Lovely, warm in and out pool - a real antidote to the winter blues. Staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble.
Coffee was too weak at Breakfast - I would like the option of expresso - this wasnt offered. The choice of cereals was rather limited.
Very clean hotel food good
Very poor reception greeting, no personal touch also no lighting in swimming pool v bad health and safety risk!!!
The Magdalene Chapter is in a central location within walking distance of both the City Centre and the lovely docks area. There are plenty of local eateries but The Chapter breakfast is excellent.
Modern design, veryrelaxed. Helpful staff.
Food over seasoned.
Hotel exterior is a beautiful conversion of the former eye hospital, very nicely furnished inside in a modern style. Room was excellent and the swimming pool and bar are good to. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was of good quality and very good value to at £7.50.
Only the price! If you can find a good deal its a great hotel and well worth the money to stay.
Staff were largely very pleasant, bed was comfortable, enjoyed the real fires and complimentary newspapers. Breakfast nice enough. Location good.
Very small car park that resulted in me paying £15 for less than 12 hours in the public car park opposite. Was charged wrong amount for room on arrival and was therefore presented with a bigger bill on leaving. We were in a deluxe room but it was not spacious; poor layout meant it was not easy to get into shower and the wardrobe was very small. Don't think I'll stay here again.
Relaxed. Great decor. Breakfast. Pool.
Car parking is across the road and not free. Room was a little cold, effect of the huge old windows I think.
Staff made stay enjoyable and relaxed
Car parking was awful
comfy bed nice spa lovely food helpful staff nice bathroom
Pool concept with log burner Attention to detail
Room Facilities Room Service Ipad in room. Staff
Parking!!! Unless you are lucky you have to leave your car in the public pay and display overnight. Not ideal from a security point of view, but difficult to see what else the hotel could do given location. When I arrived the pay and display was full. Not ideal after a five hour drive.
Not your average hotel. Open fire to welcome you. Reception desk is a beautifully carved piece of art. Bar was comfortable, restaurant was a spacious airy room with feature lights. A lovely selection of continental breakfast & cooked breakfast dishes. Our room had a huge bed & an ensuite shower room & hidden behind a curtain we also found a separate bath room with standalone bath!! Went for a swim in the early evening in the heated swimming pool, half inside (the fireroom) & half outside in the pretty garden. V romantic, had the pool to ourselves lit by fairy lights. We would definitely visit again & recommend to others.
Parking is v limited, (fine for disabled parking though) but there is a public carpark literally next door. Clothes storage was limited in our room but we did have 2 bathrooms in our room so that may be why! Only 2 things available on room service menu after 10pm cheese on toast or ham sandwich, but cheese on toast very nice.
There is a great ambiance in this hotel. It is relaxed without being casual, supportive without being intrusive. I enjoy coming here.
Location very good and staff very helpful Liked hotel decoration and art works Very modern.
Size of bedroom was very small considering the cost and the wardrobe/cupboard was barely accessible except turning sideways . Was this fit for purpose ?
Staff Room upgrade! Fires Ale Eggs Benedict
Awful bed...mattress sloped into middle ! No ale on draught Pool not open at 0830
Swimming under the moonlight in January in such beautiful surroundings. Amazing staff service. Ever so comfy bed. Beautiful products available to use. Ipad with a lovely chilled music playlist with room. Complimentary mini bar. We felt so relaxed.
Very little parking even for off loading luggage All local parking full
Friendliness of staff. Hotel facilities. Ambience
Limited car parking area
Toiletries Nespresso Comfy Bed Good shower
small car park staff not as bubbly as previous
Friendly staff Pet friendly Garden and pool area Location Style and atmosphere
surprisingly average breakfast/supper limited parking outside hotel itself
Good Location Friendly Staff on check-in Rooms were lovely although mine was a bit hot...even with trying to compensate with opening a window. Liked the Ipad on check-in everything you needed and wanted to know.
Staff at breakfast spent most of the time I was in the restaurant giggling for some unknown reason. Service was slow as they appeared interested in chatting to each other, big shame.
The individuality and ambiance of the hotel.
Lack of parking
All of it.
Thought for £89 a head to eat in the restaurant on New yrs eve they may have put on a little entertainment in the bar / lounge, just a singer or musician would of kept us drinking in the lounge longer;0)
