Excellent evening meal
It was very easy to have my dog - park just round the corner and grass available in hotel grounds. Bathroom was good. Didn't get chance to sample pool but will definitely try next time
Not enough parking for guests in hotel although public car park very close
Great restaurant and stylish rooms. Friendly and easy check-in.
Parking is limited.
The building is an old hospital and the style inside is really unique and quite cool. We spent two nights here and it was great for being very central in Exeter. The hotel car park was inevitably full, but parking at the pay and display car park next door was hassle free and, as long as you take the car out to the beach or somewhere during the day, fairly inexpensive for a city-centre. The rooms are beautiful (although standard room was tiny, but the impressively huge windows compensated by making it feel airy) and with lush Ren toiletries: very nice touch. The inside-outside pool was amazing: swimming under a cold but clear February night-sky was delightful and really made the stay here worth it.
One complaint: the standard room was beautifully decked out, but tiny!
What is the point of an IPad for hotel info other than gimmick and logging onto WiFi is a nightmare
Swimming pool and restaurant...staff always helpful and smiling
Unimpressed with too informal reception area...horrible lighting ,uncomfortable chairs, staff fine but impression was just an area to chat.no idea what huge pod in middle meant to symbolise.Shame as first impressions important
The staff were great, the room was very clean and spacious. The swimming pool was also very pleasent.
The "full English breakfast" was no where near what it should of been for £10.50. Missing beans, hash brown toast, outrageous! Unfortunately had to complain
Relaxing atmosphere, plenty of quiet spaces to sit & read. Great informal reception, and superb rooms. Also stunning restaurant ..
Dinner table staff require more training in the service industry, i:e ( smile please )
Very attentive polite staff, excellent food, the feature room was very comfortable, coffee machine and complimentary minibar was a nice touch.
Lovely building sympathetically restored, lovely lounges, bar and rooms. Fab little indoor/outdoor pool and spa. Great cocktails and food, great staff. Nice use of tech (iPads) in room.
Patchy service second night in restaurant but staff reacted quickly and positively when mentioned, which is all you can ask for in that situation; sometimes things go wrong but it's now they are fixed that's important!
Modern with original features, warming and relaxed feel. Lots of areas to relax and unwind. individual ipad which operates everything you need in the hotel.
Food was really good but expensive, menu could have more choice only in the main restaurant.
Interesting design of decor with contrast of modern v. old
Ipad hotel guide, nice room, tasty food, interesting breakfast.
Modern and great location
Rooms too small
Just what the doctor ordered
Didn't have enough tie to try all the facilities
Efficient, friendly staff, excellent facilities, great food, comfortable room and gorgeous toiletries !
Lovely character exterior, very contemporary interior. Good bathroom, staff nice but not exceptional. Food quite good.
Room very small, curtains not attached properly, couple of bits missed by cleaners.
Loved the open fire, staff and no hidden costs
room a tad small
Location was good, room was ok - pretty small
Very expensive for what it was. Staff busy and flustered. Hallways dirty and not hoovered from one day to next! Would stay elsewhere next time!
Room was very cold on arrival
The welcome. The Food. Pool.
Great interior design, real fires ( a big win for me) and good meeting room facilities.
There was nothing I did not like.
Lovely, warm in and out pool - a real antidote to the winter blues. Staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble.
Coffee was too weak at Breakfast - I would like the option of expresso - this wasnt offered. The choice of cereals was rather limited.
Very clean hotel food good
Very poor reception greeting, no personal touch also no lighting in swimming pool v bad health and safety risk!!!
