great massage at Spa with knowledgeable staff
No parking available at hotel, car parks close by very busy. Ipad system used by hotel as a communication tool, guest has to accept responsibility for including cost of replacement if damaged. fridge not working, so curdled milk in morning. In-room shower doesn't afford you much space or any privacy.
Great package deals and we really enjoyed the spa - the technicians are better than any I have found in London.
Lovely stay, great staff and beautiful building and surroundings.
Small Pool but still great to chill!
Great hotel with lots of small touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible - including an iPad in your room. The food in the restaurant was lovely, as was their afternoon tea. But the best part was probably the lovely garden and swimming pool.
We found it odd that there was no door between the bathroom and bedroom.
Felt luxurious. Pool was fun and the location is excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Noise from room above consisting of loud footfall interrupted sleep.
the room was clean and modern staff were helpful and polite friendly atmosphere
Room was very clean, hotel had all you could wish for.
Found reception a bit confusing, was not a proper front desk.
Everything, this place is excellent.
We didn't use all the facilities or the garden but the staff were so obliging and to have proper milk for tea and coffee in the room was exceptional. Also the free bar, which again we didn't use, was a good touch. Super to have automatic ports to revive mobiles and laptops
Breakfast was microwavy Magdalen Street is a bit busy with traffic throughout the night and with the window open for air, as we didn't find the airconditioning, it woke me up a couple of times
Great facilities including a heated indoor/ouydoor pool in a secluded corner.
Not enough parking fot the size of the hotel.
Amazing Stylish Rooms Free Mini Bar Coffee Machine Extremely Comfortable Beds Good central location
The ambiance, location, bar food and attentive and polite staff.
The pool was too small and busy with many children. I've stayed here before out of school holidays and it has been a great romantic setting. My advice is don't go in school holidays. The breakfast is limited and the service from staff is less efficient to other areas of the hotel. The staff were grumpy all by one who was breath of fresh air. The hotel room was not as clean and well maintained as other rooms we have stayed in, and we had a free upgrade, thank you. The dog rug and bowl was a little off putting and psychologically made me feel the room was dirty with dog airs, it wasn't but it does not portray cleanliness. The tired state of the walls may have been due to it being used for dogs. All this aside I feel it is a great hotel and would stay again.
The rooms, I -pad,comfortable bed and complimentary mini bar.
Room was a bit small.
Spa and pool Breakfast- yummy Outside space is fab
Lack of parking and a shame that the hotel don't provide passes or discounts to park in the nearby council car park.
Clean hotel ,money for value and air condition
There should be a sofa or proper chairs for setting in the room
Friendly helpful staff, rooms well designed especially the lighting which makes for a comfortable stay. Food and wine as excellent as the hotel. Far from any usual "corporate chain" feel. Will return!
Nothing, couldn't fault it,
loved the hi tech touches and restaurant
No iron in room
We stayed on our wedding night. The hotel kindly upgraded us to a larger room & gave us a bottle of champagne! It made our day extra special.
Cleanliness Restaurant staff polite
Ceilings on the third floor too close to the head. You Have to carefully maneuver your way each time wondering if your head would hit the ceiling. If you are above 5"9...Please avoid staying on the 3rd floor. Food was bland. I Paid 205 pounds a night for the 2nd night. Absolute rip off. Rooms definitely not worth it.Front Desk Staff was abit aloof.
Excellent location Friendly staff Beautiful food Relaxed Spa experience
Very impressed, didn't find fault!
The hotel was everything we hoped it would be .... intimate .... comfortable .....chic...... and great value for money for the whole package. Definitely going back next year on our anniversary as the management left us some chocolates in the room and gave us a glass of bubbly at dinner - those touches were really appreciated.
Second stay, room still lovely decor and high quality, swimming pool is stunning, food was simply the best vegetarian meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant and staff are supportive but not intrusive (just the right balance).
Stayed last time in the Autumn and in the week. Whilst the stay was still far better than any other hotel I know in the region, it did feel the hotel had become more money conscious. I received a call one week before asking if I would like to book dinner in the restaurant and got the impression the caller was not happy when I declined. At the hotel I discovered some of the free add ons were now chargeable. For example, late check out was free last time, £15 this time even though no one mentioned this fact when I requested it. I still love the hotel and it is a very special stay, but felt there was more of an emphasis on encouraging me to spend in the hotel, which is unnecessary. The hotel sells itself. Don't be out off though, it's still the best.
The decor, comfort of room and the politeness of members of staff who checked us in and out.
The service in the restaurant. We felt other guests that came in after us were given priority over us or maybe it was miscommunication between staff i.e. who was serving us. 1) We ordered a starter the soup and never got it, we were served the main course. We received an apology which was accepted in good faith However after the main course, we requested the dessert menu from one of the waitresses which never came, after some time, a gentleman came over to enquire if we were okay, we again requested the menu but by then we had lost our apetite. Was all this an oversight by staff or was it that we were regarded as not worth providing good service too. Considering we paid £165 for the night I am very disappointed. My husband was livid and would probably not stay there again
