No car park
everything. delicious food and lovely staff and room.
if I had been with my partner we would have wanted a "closed off bathroom" but was told I could request that when with my partner.
fabulous exterior match by the design inside, smart friendly with a relaxed atmosphere .great way to break the long journey to padstow, only a stones throw from the main shopping and cathedral areas.
limited parking, but there is a pay and display next door.
The open fires and styling of the hotel. Good use of space and design, with interesting artwork.
The service was erratic, staff seemed in-experienced. As the hotel is open to non guests, no where to sit in the lounge or bar at the weekend.
Great location! Room very nice Staff very nice and helpful.
Nothing not to like
Nice Staff and breakfast. Got an i-pad to order room service and info re TV and restaurants.
The white tiled bathroom and shower. It felt like a hospital. We looked at 3 themed rooms as the first was grey, austeer and depressing.Room 116 was more welcoming. The reception was wooden ball in the centre of the room with the staff standing around a laptop.
The whole atmosphere of this hotel is very calm and relaxing. Beautiful decor and nice attention to detail. The inside outside pool was brilliant, especially at dusk. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
We stayed in the feature room above the entrance and I personally would have liked complete darkness whilst sleeping. The side lights disturbed my sleep.
Well decorated, modern interior. Ipad given on arrival is nice touch. Steaks are delicious. Fizz Fridays (half price prosecco) Excellent Swedish massage
10 parking spaces slightly irritating (had to spend an additional £20 to park the car over the weekend) Slow service in restaurant at times. Unable to upgrade to bigger room
The building. The bedroom and fittings. Dining room.
Breakfast service was chaotic. Appalling. Dinner and bar service much better.
Design of rooms and attention to detail. Loved the small pool & spa area. Fab food and lovely lounging area. Artwork on walls fab too. Very good central location. A real designer hip hotel.
Near a road so a bit noisy, room a bit on the small side. Not cheap but food & drinks great quality. Breakfast could be better and I wish they would change eve menu more often. A little bit formulaic despite being delicious!
Swimming pool and real fires !
Bed not comfortable, no chocolate in the fridge!
Lovely hotel; clean, modern, with some quirky features ie indoor to outdoor heated pool. Definitely worth a visit!
Beautiful decor in a modern, contemporary style, topped off with lit cosy fires. Friendly staff always happy to help. Lovely restaurant - great for both evening dinner and breakfast.
Lack of parking spaces as car park so small. Sadly our milk sachets in the fridge were out of date. One of the bath towels had a large ripped hole in the centre.
It was contemporary and quirky, in a good way. The architecture, décor and attention to detail in the transformation of such an old building was impressive.
Trying hard to be different and upmarket, but its still an old and ageing facility. Adding a spar does not make up up to the minute.
slightly sad, rather disjointed with a sense of superiority.
Decent size bedroom, huge wet room (room 3), excellent breakfast menu and buffet, courteous and welcoming staff, imaginative furnishing and decor.
The twin beds were disappointingly small - just standard 3foot singles, instead of the four/four foot six we invariably find in any American chain hotel. Not having slept in a single since childhood I felt in danger of rolling out of bed whenever I turned over in the night!
Central location excellent - 5 mins walk to Cathedral.Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.Huge bed, crisp sheets.Lovely breakfast.Quick check in and out.
Modern bathroom fixtures so difficult to use.ie could not get hot shower, could not have bath without shower dribbling...all our fault but the complicated taps have no markings to help! Car parking very limited.
location but difficult if had a car. nice bathroom and bedroom but for the pillows (see negatives) good room service
air conditioning kept clicking when turned on. marks on pillow, could see them through pillow case. beer in fridge, why not choice - wine or beer, don't like beer. odd packets of milk. did NOT like paying on arrival, poor practice.
Beautifully decorated and great cocktails. Nice staff and great rooms.
The parking is a joke to be honest as there are hardly any spaces. I would come by train not car!
room service was exceptional
only a shower room no bath
The indoor/outdoor pool is sublime. October, 7am, clear sky, glorious moon. The main reason we go there (along with the warm welcome, great food and lovely rooms)
Hotel was lovely, amazing cocktails and spa is fab. Will definitely come again
The contemporary styling and the friendly service. The pool is amazing! Small and enclosed in a courtyard-style garden with access to an indoor area with a wood burning stove. Great in the cold and rain, a first for any pool I have exoperienced! Stay for the pool and the rst of the very pleasant hotel is a bonus!
Some staff poorly informed of menu choices, drinks and facilities. The restaurant has a good, diverse menu but the staff are lacking in depth of knowledge of food and particularly of the wine list. The list is OK but I got completely wrong recommendations from the waiter who clearly had no knowledge and should have deferred to somebody else.
The style of the hotel was amazing, very modern and contemporary. Staff were helpful and friendly. Spa and pool looked great, will definitely try next time.
We had to use the public car park near by as the hotels parking was full. It cost nearly £20 in parking which seemed unfair when other guests had free parking.
