Appualing parking almost zero spaces and for nearly £150 per night I don't expect to have to pay nearly £20 to park at a competitors hotel. Room needed a clean.
The whole place is nicely thought through. The rooms are comfortable, the restaurant is well run with good food, and the amenities are superb
The swimming pool was a luxurious delight, especially the fire room. The room was spacious and tasteful, the staff were excellent, everything was perfect.
The only downside is the lack of parking but there is public parking very near by so no real problem
Excellent Staff, Log Fires, Pool.
Having to leave.
Lovely bar and library
Bedroom tiny no capsules for coffee machine noisy during the night guest was knocking on a door for a long time .promised a Sunday times it didn't arrive.
In particular the level of digital control for all services particularly the bedroom
Plenty of smiling faces, friendly staff throughout at all levels. Nothing was too much bother, no task too small. Warm inviting place, traditional log fires to welcome all. Meals were excellent, fresh and hot, pleasantly presented on the plate. Cleanliness from rooms, to glasses from the bar...outstanding. Spa pool outstanding, water cleanliness outstanding. Log fire within the building of the spa pool, coloured lights in the ceiling which made the whole room feel warm and inviting. Massage parlour outstanding, with expert people to provide release from the daily aches and pains. We have already booked to visit again over the Christmas period
Letting the log fire go out in the spa pool room a little too early. We used the pool a lot during our visit. During the cold days, the pool water was a dream, very warm. Towards the evening (9pm), we would have our final dip before a night cap at the bar, the fire had been left to go out, and the water was getting very cold. Otherwise, very nice.
Lack of sleep through yapping dog and party downstairs Slamming doors and smokers outside my room No sleep !!
decor and feel of hotel
Great location and customer service/facilities Food outstanding and very accommodating . Rooms modern and well kitted out ,cleanliness all areas to a high standard. Ambience v good
Parking but not a major problem as free car park after 6pm next to hotel
The quirky swimming pool was great. The room was small but well designed and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very happy to help and we felt like we'd spoilt ourselves.
There was something in the room making a loud clicking noise which woke me every hour. I think it was the aircon. I told staff on leaving who apologised and said they'd check it our.
Location, comfortable bed, swimming pool.
This hotel had it all! The reception doesn't look like a reception at all, it's so casual and friendly! As soon as you walk in the main door there is an open fire that's so amazing to sit beside and there's not only one! There are a few scattered around all with chairs so you can relax in front! The room and the breakfast was perfect! My fiance even said it was the best breakfast she's ever had! Top notch hotel 5mins walk from the city centre! Will definitely come back!
That I wasn't there longer :-( I also didn't get a chance to sample the dinner menu :-(
A good welcome, not over formal, just polite and efficient and helpful.
Friendliness of staff. Dinner food good but service could be quicker. Interesting design of bedrooms.
Parking is a problem. There may be a car park close by but at Christmas time it is very difficult to find a space. Buffet breakfast mediocre.
Bar food and service excellent. Room contemporary with high ceiling and fabulous long windows but sadly only a view of the conservatory dome. Will ask for higher floor next time.Bathroom to die for - real luxe with Ren products Loved the ipad too. coffee machine and kettle a joy
Really would have liked more pillows available, especially for lounging /reading/watching TV in the fabulous bed. Loved the nespresso machine, but far too little milk - 4 sticks only. Wardrobe space pretty limited for 2 people but overall very happy.
Parking was not good - use council car park! :( Food average, could be better.
Comfortable beds Superb food in the restaurant Amazing breakfast served in a relaxed atmosphere Loved the pool
Our room was a little too small
No car park
everything. delicious food and lovely staff and room.
if I had been with my partner we would have wanted a "closed off bathroom" but was told I could request that when with my partner.
fabulous exterior match by the design inside, smart friendly with a relaxed atmosphere .great way to break the long journey to padstow, only a stones throw from the main shopping and cathedral areas.
limited parking, but there is a pay and display next door.
The open fires and styling of the hotel. Good use of space and design, with interesting artwork.
The service was erratic, staff seemed in-experienced. As the hotel is open to non guests, no where to sit in the lounge or bar at the weekend.
Great location! Room very nice Staff very nice and helpful.
