The Washington is a Grade 2 Listed building less than a mile from central Bristol, and a 10-minute walk from Clifton Village. The guesthouse offers cooked breakfasts and individually decorated rooms.
Score from 610 reviews Good
Good facilities, free off street parking and decent continental breakfast
Good location, only a short bus ride from the city centre. Reasonable sized room and en suite bathroom. All clean. Staff very nice and helpful. Very good breakfast with many options. Would definitely come again.
Room and bathroom spotless, good amounts of tea & coffee + biscuits. Lovely clean beds, breakfast was wonderful, it's called a Continental, but it's more. The quality of the food was very good, Big fruit bowl, yogurts, bread, Croissants, 8/10 different Cereals! Cold meats, cheese, egg etc all made for a great start to our day.
Shame it's on a main road, but hey the price was right.
Near to city centre. Nice clean room and washroom. Good choice of continental breakfast.
Very narrow and cramped parking lot at the back of the guesthouse. If you have a big car, you won't be able to park safely apart from first 2 spaces. Also room was quite noisy early morning despite having had the windows closed. Also with any heavy transport passing by, the whole room would shake and rattle.
Car parking - difficult to turn car around.
However. Staff was helpful in finding alternative accommodations.
The alternative accommodations were more expensive because of no advanced booking.
Our room had 2 double beds and a single so represents great value for money for a family.
Taxi from cent cost £6. Bus journey back the next day was about £2.50 per adult. The hotel was clean and perfectly adequate. Breakfast (continental) had lots of choices, a good spread.
Nicely situated within walking distance of Bristol city center. Ensuite room which was clean and nicely appointed. Off road parking and reasonable buffet breakfast include in the price. I paid £45.00 for a single room on a Friday night so great value
Too hot. The girl at breakfast couldn't speak English so it took a while to work out how the self service system worked ie: find a clean cafetiere from a cupboard and fill it from a water boiler for coffee. Just a minor inconvenience though and would stay again. Especially as I now know how to get a coffee in the morning!
It was cheap!
Noisy road location. Noise from within the building. Poor and very basic breakfast. Rooms were clean but stains on carpets suggested that they are not that clean... I checked out at 8am, reception was not available until 9am which meant I did not get a receipt for my room!
Big family rooms, comfortable beds, good wifi connection.
Being on a main road it was very noisy, so sleep was hard to come by. We had problems with the drainage of our shower, but the staff were really friendly and quick to fix it.
comfortable bed. Enjoyed the continental breakfast. Bus stopping outside.
I really liked the room which was en suite and the breakfast was exceptionally good value for a continental breakfast.the location is also very central and accessible to the station/town
Mostly everything a few things might need work but other than that was a pleasent place to stay.
The wifi signal in the bedrooms i think you should look to boost them the shower heads need to be looked at e.g. securing them better and more pressure out of them and the breakfast.. there wasnt enough selection i.e. maybe put a full english on the menu.
Good value for money, free parking useful as we had a car with us, handy location close to the centre Bristol, clean and comfortable room, really good choice for breakfast (even had soya milk available!).
On this occasion the weather was hot, but with the window open the traffic noise meant disturbed sleep, even early in the morning, so if you're likely to need the window open on your trip it might be worth seeing if you can have a room at the rear of the property!
It's a hotel Bed and Breakfast very comfortable, rooms spacious and very clean and good combination with the bus from the airport and downtown Bristrol.
Like as close to local pubs and lots of food places.
No wifi signal think because we we're at the top of the building.
Bedroom was very clean and with a good standard of furnishings even the single room had a sizeable ensuite with a very good shower, ample tea and coffee was available in the room and they actually had an iron somthing often missing from UK hotel rooms. Entry and exit to the premises is card controlled for security and parking was off road if numbers were a little limited. Breakfast was simple but varied and available from 6.30 pm.
WiFi reception was poor possibly as a result of over useage Traffic noise was fairly intrusive so ask for a room at the back. No elevator.
The staff and the continental breakfast.
The location (which is not the prprietor's fault). The rear view to abandoned and derelict buildings.
Clean modern well kept rooms were cleaned every days bed comfortable little traffic noise en suite rooms with shower plenty of hot water dining room good wide selection for breakfast
Staff were a little unfriendly but helpful first check in was satisfactory
Nice Restraunt about 20 yards away called Mezzaluna. Fantastic Food there. Nice large bathroom. Fairly stylish. breakfast was nice.
Very small room. Very hot (time of the year) Walls are paper thin. Very noisy road outside which is very busy at all times even at early hours. Very hard bed and pillows. Bed was very small. Staff are not very helpfull.
Suited our purpose of accommodation for 1 night.
Not a particularly good area.and very busy road.
Much better than expected Frequent buses so did not use car at all once there Continental breakfast very very good loads of choice
Room; breakfast; location; good size single beds
Shower not very good; "white" towels, though clean, very thin and very dirty grey, they urgently need replacing.
