Lovely location even on a winters day. Management and staff Very friendly and helpful Excellent fish on the menu.
There was no fire lit in the bar..which would have been nice on a winters day. BUT they were working on the chimney So sure that there will be soon
Inside it was warm. I think I had been upgraded. The staff got taxis into town for me very promptly
I could not get a Vodaphone signal there. I did not try other networks.
Everything about it, nice location, really nice local people, landlord and staff nice and friendly made you feel welcome , highly recommend , food spot on, thanks steve,
nothing to moan about,
The food , atmosphere, friendliness of staff & it`s setting. I should imagine it must look marvellous in summer. We shall certainly go back.
Driving around the extremely narrow lanes rather hair raising !!!!
STYLE AND COMFORT OF ROOMS
DIFFICULT COUNTRY LANES TO NEGOCIATE
From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed, our room overlooking the river was one of the best we ever stayed in very clean and spacious nice to able to sit in armchairs or on a settee in the room. Meals were very good especially if you liked fish. If we were visiting the area again we would defiantly stay again.
A bit out of the way but well worth it for the waterside location. The staff could not have been more helpful, even providing shampoo we had forgotten to pack, packing-up a doggy bag when we were brought to a halt by the more than generous helpings at dinner - and what a dinner local mouth watering crab claws, squid, bass and smoked fish finished off with Devon blue cheese. The locals in the bar including George the Fish (who did provide the fish) were a laugh a minute and made the time fly! Retired to a spacious bedroom and woke for a walk by the river before breakfast - couldn't be better.
Bedroom - very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Food & drink: delicious & well priced - only (small) complaint is that the portions are too big!
Getting there - narrow lanes and some inconsiderate drivers (but worth it once you arrive)
Wonderfully friendly staff. Enormous gorgeous room with a great view. Fabulous evening meal and breakfast.
No mobile signal - but they were most apologetic and were happy for me to use the landline.

Beautiful food, wonderful friendly welcome, interesting attentive landlord, cosy atmosphere.
Great food, staff friendly and helpful, surrounding countryside stunning, walks on the doorstep. Easy access and not far from Totnes and local attractions.
The room was ok but no view.
Very good welcome in particular from Gemma, the Manager, who on hearing we had not yet shopped for dog food offered us some to tide us over. Good atmosphere in the bar and friendly, smiling staff. Very good dinner and excellent breakfast. Would recommend and will stay longer next time.
Beautiful location. The place is really well run, the staff are polite and helpful without being intrusive and the food was excellent.
We had a lovely, spacious room overlooking the beautiful River Dart, and thoroughly enjoyed our two lunches and two evening meals (and breakfasts) in the vibrant pub bar, which also overlooks the river. Staff were at all times extremely personable, pleasant and helpful, even on the very busy Friday evening. The pub, which has a great atmosphere, serves excellent beer, wine and cider and the food was very good (though far too many chips with the venison burger and fish and chips on the second night!). The couple who have renovated the pub have created a really great place to stay in this beautiful part of Devon.
River aspect, friendly staff and locals, excellent food. Log fire in small restaurant room.
First day of colder weather and slightly cool in the restaurant
Superb riverside location in a quiet Devon village. Very pleasant and spacious room, well fitted out, beautiful en suite bathroom, comfortable bed
A few glitches - maybe we were just unlucky: returned on both afternoons to find our room left unlocked, breakfast rather slow to arrive, especially on second morning when chef failed to turn up for work
Pleasant stay, staff friendly and efficient, food very good
Approached by single track roads
good food and friendly.
Wi-Fi not good.
The food and wine list is fantastic - try the mussels and Reisling together they are incredible. We had the best nights sleep in our beautiful big bed over looking the river, and were even upgraded to a better room because it was quiet. A fantastic location and a fantastic pub/BnB - we will be back!!!
The only thing was that the internet was slightly slow - but other than that nothing!!!
Staff were relaxed V pretty location Good pub food Warm atmosphere
Bed abit soft
The setting was lovely, the staff great and the food was top quality especially the evening meal with very generous portions. Would have loved to have stayed longer. We'll definitely be back again.
The only complaint if any would have been that it would have been great to have had a couple of easy chairs in the room so that we could relax and watch the TV late in the evening.
Peaceful location beside a beautiful arm of the Dart Estuary. Comfortable rooms and good food - especially in the evening. Warm welcome and friendly staff.
Very limited breakfast offering apart from the "full English". Feeling of work still in progress after fairly recent re-opening but great potential.
