The staff and facilities were excellent. Good restuaurant and service.
Breakfast is only served from 7.30am this meant I had to miss it because of having early meeting. Should serve from 7am. Checkout hindered by meeting in reception and door locked. The layout is complicated and easy to get lost in building. Will book elsewhere in future.
Very well-presented accommodation in former halls of residence. Smart and well-furnished bedroom, well-equipped bathroom. The reception staff were efficient and welcoming, and there is a good restaurant within the Management Centre with a view out over the Menai Straits. We slept very well and the breakfast seemed more than adequate. Staying there seems very good value.
Not a problem for us, but some of the bedrooms are some way away from reception down flights of stairs and along corridors.
The shower was excellent!
Signposting a little confusing intitially
The staff was wonderful. Very clean rooms and all the mod cons
Finding it hard to our room from the fron
The facilities are modern and clean
The car parking is limited
Location and convenience
Staff couldn't have made my stay any better. Attentive, polite and very friendly. Breakfast - smoked salmon and scrambled eggs cooked to perfection!
Bathroom ceiling had a rain in during the night, making it unsafe. Staff came and moved me to another bedroom. Beyond everyone's control but a quick and speedy changeover - Thank you all
You could say this hotel is centrally located between the train station of Bangor, and the main "high street" of this town centre, where all the other bus transport to the other attractions of north Wales also begins. As a tourist you don't want to be located anywhere else since Bangor is so easy to get to and from, to other places of interest. The full Welsh breakfast available every morning is certainly worth a try and definitely worth £10 pounds at least three times a week. I really like the hand cream, and other body shampoo left for personal use. The weather though rainy mostly, does leave my hands rather dry. The de caffeinated coffee as a choice was definitely thoughtful!
I think this place could do with some furniture "readjustments". Currently, there isn't enough room to hang up two people's clothes in the same cupboard. One could remove the current removable cupboard and at the same time cure two constraints. Rebuild a slightly larger or broader open-cupboard into this same space, which I would then refer to as a "built in" cupboard to differentiate from the present removable cupboard, which will then give more room to hang overcoats and clothes for at least two people, sine the room is for two people. Box out the space where the current electrical on-off switch is for the room. This way all guests would not need to find the switch which is currently somewhat hidden behind the present removable cupboard.
Very clean rooms, hotel in a good location if you are there on University business. Staff were friendly. Restaurant and bar are small but nice- very good food. The views are lovely from back of hotel and the ambience is nice- the old building has quite a few unique and antique-feeling features.
Bit pricey for what you get. Also there is a fluorescent emergency light in the bedroom which doesn't go off at night - I had to sleep with an eye mask as it would have kept me awake otherwise. The lay out is a bit like a maze with lots of small stairs - annoying when you have a case as the lift is very limited (only works to link certain areas). Also breakfast only goes until 9.
Modern clean rooms, ours were the larger ones. View of the Menai strait.
Variable attitude of staff. Shocked to observe another traveller refused a sandwich in the coffee shop at 5pm. Not impressed with grumpy comment regarding a taxi request. Also an establishment of this size could have a gym or pool table. Lovely building missing it's potential. Breakfast nicely cooked but limited and poor quality of ingredients.
The hotel staff are very friendly and accomodating. They make us feel very much at home and they serve vegetarian food as well. The room is so comfortable and clean. We will definetly come back to stay for the next trip.
The staff was very fantastic, very nice and very caring! I went on holiday and I got cold! Two of the staff was saying how are you feeling?. I thought that was just nice to hear that!. The breakfast was very nice!.
Nothing to say. Just fantastic!.
A very comfortable hotel with helpful staff. They even had gluten free bread which made the breakfast experience so much nicer for me.
The Wi-fi did not stay connected consistently after logging in. This was very frustrating.
staff location room facilities food
Location, food and room (although curtains didn't shut and wifi was terrible)
Rude staff on booking and in reception. Unhelpful. Poor wifi
Location. old building Clean and comfy breakfast helpful staff
Having to go through the dining room to access the lift.
Room,food,bar,staff.really enjoyable stay
Near to the university we went to visit
The location and the staff. In particular the restaurant staff were excellent. The room was very clean and well equipped.
The noise above my room from another guest was really annoying and woke me on several occasions throughout the night . The noise was the individual walking across the room . banging doors, water flow and going to the toilet . The bed was uncomfortable and hard. I had one of the worst night ever , resulting in me feeling tired and exhausted for a very busy day ahead.I am normally extremely tolerant but don't think I would ever stay there again . I addressed this the next morning and was advised to book a first floor room next time . I would never recommend a ground floor room .
Staff were so helpful Location Room size Comfort Shower & bathroom
Very good quality and clean. Food excellent
Not a particularly relaxing atmosphere, reception already being prepared for a wedding. Restaurant very very quiet which results in lack of atmosphere.
Bed and breakfast
Stairways are difficult for suitcase carrying
View from restaurant over Menai Straits. Excellent evening meal (shame we had to go to work after!). Clean, comfortable, well furnished room with good shower. The breakfast. Lovely Arts & Crafts Tudor style building
Noise from delivery vehicles early morning
Loved the room, great facilities in the room and the large towels in bathroom. Comfortable bed, friendly staff. We ate in 1884 restaurant which was a very good meal.
Check in time very late 15:00 which didn't really suit us. Our only complaint was that the bed linen was not changed. When we turned down the duvet at 22:30 we found quite an amount of body hairs on the sheet and a live spider. We rang down to reception and two men came up to our room. However they were security as no one was at reception this late. They offered us another room next to ours but this also had two long head hairs underneath the duvet. Eventually they found fresh sheets for us so we found ourselves changing bed sheets at 23:00 not what we expected.
