The cottage was lovely, had everything we needed for a three night stay and probably longer. We chose it as it was close to Alton towers. The staff were welcoming and the food was lovely. Our boys enjoyed it and slept as well as if they were in their own beds, so overall, couldn't fault it!
We arrived a bit late, due to finishing work, so didn't get there until 9.30pmish, had to walk into the busy pub to check in, and were shown quickly to the cottage. If we'd arrived during the day, we may have been given a bit more time? Not to much of a problem though overall!
There was a good selection on the menu. The room was in a quiet location and was well appointed with all amenities.
Nice location, rooms across courtyard from the pub, so quiet and private. Evening meals in the pub restaurant excellent.
There wasn't enough choice of breakfasts. Why no muesli, croissants, pastries, continental breakfast options in general?
Our room was very comfortable, a family suite giving a separate room for our two children. We had a superb evening meal and a great breakfast in the morning. Only 20 minutes from Alton Towers.
Just liked the hotel generally all over.
no wifi available on the rooms
Good location for seeing the surrounding area. The breakfast was lovely & food at the pub excellent.
Slightly dated bedrooms but clean
Food and service were lovely.
The pressure in the over head rain shower wasn't great but manged ok with hand held.
beautiful location, friendly staff and great food
Excellent location for walking from hotel Good evening meals and breakfast
Plumbing in bathroom poor - toilet flush and time for hot water in shower both need attention
It gave us a quiet relaxing rest (ie home from a home) after a very busy day. We would definitely stay there again.
The evening food selection in the restaurant was a little pricey, although extremely lovely.
Beautifully refurbished room although other rooms I saw are in need of TLC. Excellent breakfasts and good dinner menu though cooking a little variable, pretty good on the whole. Lovely, friendly atmosphere.
One rather grumpy member of staff, some noise from HGVs going past in the night or very early morning.
Great staff, great bar, great food, large garden, large car park, dog friendly, kiddy friendly peaceful.
WiFi in rooms is hit and miss. Almost no Vodafone signal, clearly not the hotel's fault but for info.
A big thank you to the manifold Inn unfortunately we were stopping due to being in the area for a funeral. However as soon as we arrived we felt welcomed, loved the friendly staff and the local scenery was gorgeous. Couldn't ask for a greater escape.
The location was excellent. People very friendly. The food was very fresh and well cooked
Rooms a bit basic. At times staff (very young) talked to each other rather than provide a service.
Quiet location, friendly staff.
A little bit remote from anywhere.
Good selection of hand-pulled real ale
Breakfast serve too late for business people that wish to get on
The surrounding area and the pub it's self.
Breakfast cutlery good be cleaner
Good location in the countryside, nice to hear birds singing when waking up in the morning. Bed was comfortable with clean duvet.
Room 7 was in need of T.L.C.The shower required extreme pressure to turn it on and most people have not got a strong grip. The unit was loose in the wall and the water took a long time to go. The hall and staircase carpets are in need of a clean as well as the banister. The banister was full of grime. We ate at the restaurant, nicely decorated, clean white table cloth unfortunately everything comes with greasy and soggy chips.
The room was lovely location great for walking and the food was excellent and big portions plus staff were excellent.
No wifi in the out building rooms.
The food & surroundings at the pub/restaurant was the best part.
You are paying for the location more than the room. The room was very basic & expensive for what it was.
Nice pub, good food and breakfest
Looks à bit old...
Great atmosphere, comfortable bed.
The hotel was tastefully furnished and comfortable and the staff were helpful and attentive.
There was no wifi in our room and there was nowhere to hang your things in the bathroom.
