The location to where we needed to be was idea, staff were friendly and room was ideal for the night
Unfortunately the bed was to soft and the room even with windows open was like a sauna
I only managed to get one Breakfast whilst staying at the hotel as it was not early enough for me. However what i did get was fantastic. I dearly would love to stay again so i can have an evening meal and some more breakfast. The room was lovely, The bed was excellent. I normally do not sleep very well but on this occasion i slept like a log.
Very comfortable in a beautiful setting outside Christchurch. We had an excellent meal in the evening. Very good to 'get away from it all'
It is well outside Christchurch so you need a car. I should add that this suited us fine but it could be a drawback
Easy to find. Although very close to major road very quiet, a good country feel . In good location for visiting beaches and towns, Staff very polite and attentive. Excellent food in restaurant.
Would have been nice to have an easy chair in our double room but otherwise very comfortable. Couple of very minor bits of tlc needed. Window handle loose and bathroom door would not close properly without locking it
Lovely rooms in a great location . Ate at the Jetty , wonderful food .
Rooms was a little hot
Clean, good sized room. Very clean.
Alarm going off at 3am and 6am - but no explaination or apology from the staff the next day. Breakfast finishes at 10 which is too early.
Good dining room and cooks
Lack of staff to serve food who had to be chased
Good location, unusual and interesting historic building, comfortable bedroom, very pleasant dining conservatory, good breakfast, tasty evening meals and excellent Sunday carvery. Made a solo traveller very welcome.
The standard of food in the Restaurant was excellent and ll the staff are extremely friendly and helpful!
Staff were helpful, location was quiet and restaurant food good value
Noisy plumbing, bedside lamp didn't work Crome finishes in bathrooms all tarnished. The standard Breakfast choice was very disappointing.
Very friendly staff, great with children, able to relax, food was fantastic
fire alarm went off a couple of times during the night but sorted quickly
Hotel needs updating and rooms need a lick of paint. It's also a lot of money considering breakfast isn't included!
Only booked three days before so the Manor wasn't our first choice as we were ideally looking for somewhere nearer the Jurrassic Coast but they had a double room available at a good price so we booked and am glad we made the choice. Jake the manager and his team were excellent. The room was clean and comfortable and the food at dinner and breakfast was superb and not expensive. The rooms had quirky names too which added to the fun..we were in "Leave me alone" ;))
Location not ideal for us but couldn't fault apart from that
Amazing views, Bedroom really good size, Clean, Modern bathroom, Flat screen TV, Excellent Full English breakfast. Friendly staff
Lumpy Bed, Not comfortable WiFi not brilliant Continental Breakfast/ better off paying the extra £3 for the Full Breakfast
Classic, period hotel with loads of character. Enormous potential if the right management in place.
Young and unprofessional staff running the place. As a new arrival, do not appreciate being addressed as "guys". Would prefer Sir and Madame, or Mr/Mrs. Service in the restaurant slow and disrespectful.
Staff Comfy beds
Noisy people in the hotel Considering the cost of the hotel, the breakfast wasn't great - only continental unless you paid extra
Loved the style of the restaurant and would be a great base to Explore the surrounding areas!
It had no headboard in bedroom and it was rather grubby above the pillows!
Staff were extremely helpful.
Breakfast- good selection of healthy options, rooms clean and pleasant staff.Nicely furnished although starting to look tired. Quiet and easy access to New Forest, beaches etc. Reasonable price.
Limited menu and of surprisingly poor standard for a 4* hotel.Restaurant closes at 9pm and bar at 10.30pm. Having sampled the lunch menu on arrival I would not eat there out of choice again. No shaving mirror in the bathroom or a mirror by a light/window for putting make up on. No long mirror in the room.
Excellent position for various trips
No air con had to get fan very hot in room even with window open.Plus hair dryer was not supplied in room as indicated in advert we asked for one and supplied from another rom
It was a spur of the moment booking so we got a great deal on the room. Check in is until 11pm which is great as we did not leave until 9pm. We had a courtesy call from the front desk to inform us that after 10 we would need to call the night porter, which was lovely to have as it was a personal touch. While on the phone I disclosed in passing that we wouldn't be much after 10pm. When we arrived, around 10:20, the young girl that I spoke to had stayed up for us, which was so lovely of her to do. She showed us to the room, which was beautiful and even offered to help with the luggage! 5 minutes after arriving we get a knock on the door with an offer of a free upgrade to allow us more space (we had child in tow). The new room was beyond belief as it was huge and wonderfully decorated! We couldn't believe our luck! All in all the whole experience was just brilliant and I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. We will definitely being choosing this hotel over the others in the area every time as the service we got was out of this world and the hotel was beautiful.
That we weren't there long enough! Should have booked a couple more days!!
Good location and tranquil surroundings. Excellent base for visiting the area. Didn't use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment.
Had paid extra for a Superior room, to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. However, the 'Blue Ice' room we were given wasn't what we were expecting. On Booking.com the picture depicts and beautiful art deco style bedroom, when I asked the receptionist it turned out that the picture depicts the bridal suite, so bit of mis-representation and very disappointing. The 'Blue Ice' room itself was basic, the décor was depressing, with 'sage' colour walls, and an unusual mixture of brass wall lights with silver plated light switches and sockets. The bathroom was more depressing with grey/black walls, black tiles and black flooring. Bathroom cabinet was unfinished with exposed wood side panels, and rusty toilet roll stand, rusty waste bin, and broken window stay. Room price included breakfast, but was disappointed to find that this was continental breakfast only, and cooked breakfast was an extra charge. Also ordered a bouquet of flowers as a surprise for my wife, but the girl on reception had no idea about this. Eventually received the flowers the following day. At the time of ordering I had specifically asked for no lilies as my wife doesn't like these, but loo and behold there were 5 lilies. In fairness the hotel did not charge for the bouquet. Sorry to sound so critical in this review, as I have stayed at some very nice 3 star hotels, but when you pay extra, for a 5 star rated hotel, we had expected something special. I think whoever gave the 5 star rating should have gone to specsavers!
The room was bit too hot in this weather. So not that great for a summer evening, but overall, it was good.
Comfortable attractive room Staff very helpful
Very comfortable, no hitches
