All staff were very friendly and helpful. Menus were attractive but might have been improved with greater choice of dishes. All food was excellently prepared and attractively presented.

I loved the view and the service

The room lacked character and thought. The room was without any feel of luxury and in my opinion rather over priced

Staff is so nice , very friendly. Food is food, rooms are massive.

Upon arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded to a larger room. When we went up, the room was fantastic, beautiful views and very comfortable. Food was yummy, not just the breakfast but the dinner menu was varied and delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful to our needs in the hotel as well as providing us with knowledge of the surrounding areas and local walks. All round it was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Only 2 complaints: Fire door outside bedroom banged as it closed resulting in a sleepless night, and no bottled water provided in rooms

Loved the staff and how friendly and helpful they were. Room was large and spacious. Handy for walking and pubs in CrickHowell (1 mile walk).

Room was warm and bed was comfortable. I was unable to inform staff of these problems, or comment on breakfast as I had to leave the hotel by 05.00.

Light bulbs removed from bed reading lamps, kettle failed to work, odour of dampness, shower too small and very difficult to regulate either temperature or water-flow which was poor.

Beautifully warm and cosy, plenty of character, nice to have pool and gym etc, good menu and food, nice decor in rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. All the important things. Room size comfortable for two people. Parking close to reception useful.

Only minor things: no lift, no Wi Fi guarantee in rooms, limited shelf /surface space in shower room for women's toiletries, benefit from extra towel rail - slightly bigger TV would have been useful Longer time for breakfast - particularly at weekend and bank holiday would have been helpful.

The staff are extremely helpfull. The facilities are well appointed and comfortable. The food was superb.

The noise from the kitchens in room 20 was obtrusive. I do Not think I could have slept in there.

Gym and swimming pool available in a reasonably priced hotel in South Wales. Quality of food in restaurant and available as a reasonable £17.50 for 3 courses.

Showers took a long time to heat up and didn't have much power.

The hotel is a mix of eclectic styles that works. The bar whilst simple is inviting and relaxing, the breakfasts delicious and the meal on Saturday in the restaurant also delicious and good value. Fish and chips to die for! We chose the hotel because they take dogs and we were there to walk. Our dogs are well behaved but they were welcomed with no fuss.

We were there for two nights and our room whilst replenished wasn't cleaned. A bit disappointing but it didn't spoil our stay.

As always, the staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel has a charming and relaxing ambience - especially at night with the multitude of candles in the lounge and dining room. The views from our bedroom accross the valley were stunning.

One minor point: during dinner, some empty tables were being laid up for the following morning's breakfast. It didn't really seem necessary to do it at that time - it certainly didn't help the ortherwise relaxing atmosphere.

Great location and good value for money.

Could do with some redecoration especially the woodwork and the grouting in the bathrooms

Fantastic stay overnight while cycling the Mon/Brecon Canal. Only wish we could have stayed longer and used more of the hotel facilities including the indoor pool and sauna, but we hope to return with the bikes very soon. Very friendly staff in an interesting historic hotel with fabulous views of the Usk Valley. Highly Recommend!

The Manor Hotel is steeped in history, some great memoabilia adds to the interest of this hotel, great place to use as a base for walks or tripping through the hills. The town of Crickhowell nearby offers a friendly welcome to travellers.
