Score from 505 reviews Very good
The ambience of the hotel, the ease of parking, exceptional choice and value at breakfast, warmth and cleanliness.
Basin plug was locked in place as the design prevented one removing it. We used tHe shower to wash including cleaning our teeth.
Communal areas Hotel grounds Room facilities (tea/coffee/fridge) Friendly staff Good breakfast
Bed was a little hard 10am check out is a little early Room decor was a little tired
Food at breakfast not hot
Room size look and feel of building
No restaurant at weekend and too far to walk to one. Service in bar very poor in general not enough staff and had a whole serve yourself atmosphere. Is geared up for conferences and weddings but not for individuals .
The hotel had character as it is not a chain.
Beautiful building, very clean and comfortable. lovely setting and exceptional staff. Would highly recommend.
Location and gardens
Limited breakfast after 9.30 am
The hotel was very nice. the room I had looked out onto a lawn. It was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of parking and the room rate was reasonable for what you got. I paid £90 B & B
The iron is a clever contraption inside a cupboard. Unfortunately it was old and dirty, leaving limescale on the clothes and the board cover wasn't attached, so a fiddly task. Dinner was tiny, quite nice, but lost sight of actually giving people dinner. I then paid to add extra side orders and the vegetables were in about an inch of melted butter. This made the meal quite expensive, once you added the sides and a cheese board (very small again, about 4 crackers). The dining room was next to a staircase and was like a cold, silent corridor. Breakfast. The waitress in the evening was lovely, in the morning a different waitress, ignored me almost completely. Overcooked sausage, bacon and hash browns. The scrambled eggs were awful. They looked dayglow orange, like a childs plastic toy version of them. I assume they had been cooked some time before. The whole thing had been cooked and reheated or kept warm for some time. Its not a surprise they were quiet. It's an attractive hotel, shame the evening cook has delusions of grandeur and the morning cook still thinks he's in the army!
Friendly staff. Warm, inviting comfortable venue. A good hotel. We recommend it. Most of our dislikes could be easily remedied.
Having to carry suitcases up and down stairs (a lift would be preferable). Dirty bath tub, no shower cap and scanty mediocre toiletries (shampoo and body lotion only available). Ended up far from our venue as has the same name as a hotel in Gomshall we wanted to stay in and not knowing the area we booked the wrong hotel !
The setting was lovely. The building was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was hot and tasty.
No atmosphere as hotel so quiet at weekends. It was not made clear that the restaurant was closed at weekends. This is a conference hotel rather than a country retreat which was what we expected.
Staff and service
Staff and rooms were really great
The mattress, I kept rolling towards the middle
Finish plus quality of bed rooms . But chiefly the food which is excellet. This chef will one day reach the top . At the moment is food is a utter bargain
A very lovely hotel, wonderful environment, our room has a beautiful garden view, and nice breakfast included. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
Location is not that great, not close to Godalming down town although still in walking distance (10-15 mins).
Quiet private bedroom with door to beautifully kept gardens. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast. All public rooms were gracious and well furnished. A most attractive location but very close to the town.
Hot breakfast, served on cold plates- spoils it completely. also music played in the dining room at breakfast isn't my thing
Great location for a stay the night before Goodwood Revival. Very good value for money. Lighting was a bit limited in the room, and breakfast could've done with being served slightly earlier. Overall a pleasant stay.
All good! Great room looking over the valley and the accommodation was modern, clean and comfortable. Great shower! Special mention to Tom and Sharron in the bar and restaurant who were attentive and welcoming. Good job guys; hope to see you again soon.
Very convenient location, walking distance to school. Lovely grounds, nice breakfast.
No elevator, so had to carry heavy suitcases up two flights of stairs (no porter). No rooms with two beds, so shared bed with teenage son. Far from Godalming.
Architecture , facilities, grounds and breakfast.
If you don't have a sat-nav, as we don't, finding the place was difficult as the hotel is off the main road. Signing was very poor.
courtesy when asking for additional items which should have been in the room but were not . Staff made up for any misgivings front of house manager is a credit to the hotel he is a real people person .
Room clean and tidy other than under the bed . Last occupants room receipt found under the bed with lots of dust lack of toilet paper dirty towel on back of bathroom door and no coffee . All sorted though .
Location, room size, polite staff.
Cooked breakfast items were only lukewarm.
Very well presented, clean and comfortable with helpful and hospitable staff.
Could have done with breakfast available at 07:00.
Good location for what we needed.
This is a Conference/Training Centre trying to be an hotel at weekends and Bank Holidays. It does not work the same as a good quality hotel you can get for the same price. At £132 per room per night it was not good VFM and overpriced for what it was.
A minor point. Please use warm plates for the cooked breakfast.
The staff at the Manor House are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Recently becoming disabled they went above and beyond to support this and ensure we had a fantastic stay.
The stairs. Unfortunately there is not a lift so it was very challenging getting to the restaurant and bar areas. The tea tray in our room was not clean.
