Really friendly owner. Very useful kitchen area for business travellers who don't want to eat in a restaurant every night.
Loverly welcome, found the place cheap and cheerful. Just what a was after.
Some proper plates and cutlery in the self service kitchen would be handy.
Nice location surrounded by plenty of shops and a 24hr asda was only 2 mins away which was very convenient. Perfect for a few days stay. Host was lovely and very helpful. Rooms comfortable and cosy and a very clean hotel
Nothing comes to mind that I didn't like
Chris the proprietor is a very friendly and helpful guy. The accommodation is basic but exactly as I'd expect for the price - it's more hostel than hotel (the kitchen is self-catering) but there's a nice cafe just across the road anyway. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs somewhere to stay when they are visiting Nuneaton to see a gig at Queens Hall, as it's a 10 minute walk.
I felt at home
Perfect place to stay easy access to Coventry
It was a short walk to restaurants, cafes and the town.
It was very noisy as it's on a busy main road. The room was also very hot (so you had to leave the windows open and hear the traffic). There was also some sort of plastic sheet on the mattress which made it even more hot (and gives an impression of the type of people that use this hostel!) I was woken up at 7am by a couple in another room having a major argument, swearing and slamming doors. It seems most people staying here are 'down and out' with nowhere to live, so it feels like a half way house rather than a hotel. Wifi also didn't work in the room, so I had to go to downstairs to the communal area. Overall, I'd give it a miss unless you're desperate!
Overall a good stay overnight Pleasant and informative managment.
everything we needed was available and it was spotless my job is a housekeeper and i was very impressed It was only 10 -15 minute walk to town centre with restaurants and takeaways all around with a room for you to eat takeaways if you wish A lot of places do not allow eating at all so this was great for us as we spent a lot of our time visiting different family members at different times
Location. Friendly reception
No soap, etc which is standard in even small places these days. Window looking out on a brick wall.
Chris (owner) pick me up from the train station so it was nice to start my stay at The Manor Hotel. Smoking area at the back of the Hotel where you can sit and have a drink/coffee relax. Simply excellent
Next time I'll take DBL Room, single it's to small for me. 6ft2
Hard to find anything I liked
There was no soap in the room. I was not provided the Wifi password on arrival and then it was too late to ask for it.
Chris was very pleasant and had a lot of information about the area.
The water in the shower went back and forth between scalding hot and really cold on its own -- I tried to adjust it but every time I found a comfortable temperature it still just seemed to flip back and forth between hot abd cold by itself --so it was very difficult to take a shower. I suspect this could be fixed easily.
I've never had an employee that has gone so out of the way to make sure that I've had such a comfortable stay (or even make it to the hotel) Chris was such a fantastic host!.. I left him a thank you note but from looking at the name on one of the notices I accidentally addressed it to Mick.. Oops. I will definitely be staying here again if I'm up north, if anyone I know ends up in Nuneaton I will be more than happy to reccomend The Manor Hotel.
Lovely room Nice staff ;) Would stay again
