Food is very good and staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and cleaned every day. The closeness to the beach and shops is also a big plus. Entertainment at the bandstand which is just over the road is excellent too. Although there is a lift to all the floors there are still some stairs to negotiate to get to some of the rooms. Also, the steps at the entrance to the hotel are very steep especially as the hotel is used by people over a certain age.

I liked the grandour of the hotel. The kettle was very dirty but we asked for a new one and given one. We asked for bottle water to fill the kettle and the water was out of date.

Booked three single rooms for a single night for £50 each. Location is great, there is parking nearby for £1 a day. Rooms were functional, one had a great sea view. Couple of niggles in the room - bath plug chain broken, co ax out of tv but these were minor. Went to breakfast just after everyone else and it took a while to be seated, but the food was really good and once ordered came quickly. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Reasonably-priced rooms and central seafront location. Lovely dining room with attentive, efficient and pleasant staff. A bizarre, but interesting, garden! We were on the 2nd floor - the corridors and the rooms were unbelievably hot and stuffy on warm, but not hot, summer evenings. In my room, there was no remote-controller for the tv, nor guest directory - the Receptionist didn't seem particularly bothered!

The wonderful location, and the very comfortable bed. There was no toothglass in the bathroom, and the cups in the hospitality drawer were too small.
