Cold bathroom and room a wee bit small for a twin
Manager is very friendly & helpful, and cooks a great breakfast.
WIFI is poor in the Lodge, which is separate to the main building. Seemed a bit pricey compared to B&Bs I have stayed at in other places.
Everything you need. Surprised that there was no road noise as the road outside is a major one. Room was triple glazed. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and good choice.
hoteliers were both particularly pleasant and helpful. bed lovely and comfortable excellent breakfast
shower cubicle quite cramped
The accommodation was easy to find with sat nav, parking on street and a car park. Very friendly host. Room was a decent size and comfortable and there was more bedding available but I didn't need it. I was a bit concerned that breakfast was to be served at 830 on Sunday and I had to be away by 845. No problem though as I was served at 815. The owner also managed to negotiate me a better deal for being a single traveller. Nice last minute find, I would be happy to stay again and happy to recommend it to others.
The only downside was the shower hose was in the far back corner of the cubicle and quite high up so it was a bit difficult to get it to a good position. A minor problem though.
Really nice breakfast with quality ingredients. + Our room was nice and clean with a comfortable bed.
Our room in "The Lodge" annexe was small with thin walls - we could hear the people next door talking and walking about on their creaky floor. + Water flow from the electric shower was variable causing potential scalding.
The staff were really friendly, The room was lovely (four poster bed room). Will stay again when visiting family.
Two very small issues - the road is a little noisy if you stay in the front. We live on an even nosier road so didn't bother us. The showers lost water pressure. Not their fault though.
A very nice place we stopped in the annex which was very comfortable, owner very friendly and could not do enough for us.
Breakfast was lovely. Clean and comfortable
Warm, friendly genuine welcome. went out of way to make my stay as pleasant as possible, even though I was only staying 1 night. You guys are the best!
Not really a dislike, but if you want an evening meal at Maple (highly recommended) you need to order before 7:30pm. that said, I arrived late and was not aware of this and they stilll served me a wonderful meal.
We enjoyed all aspects of our stay. would defo stay again.
small shower space
Clean and friendly. Excellent cooked breakfast
What's not to like
room two small and bed uncomfortable
Friendly and helpful staff Easy to find location Good quality hotel
Shower wasn't very powerful
The breakfast was varied and an help yourself style all cooked food prepare by request.
More like a friendly B&B than a hotel in atmosphere, but with all the hotel facilities that you need. Perfect location if you are cycling the canal, plus they have a secure store shed for your bike.
The breakfast 'window' of only an hour could be a little inflexible for some, but having said that guests were havng breakfast well after official breakfast time was over, as if the published breakfast period is only a guide!
Everything, really nice little private facility, very attentive hosts
It was warm and welcoming with friendly and helpful hosts. Very clean and excellent facilities. First class breakfast too.
It's hard to find anything I didn't like. The WiFi wasn't very good in our room, maybe due to the thickness of the 18 century walls. The car park was a bit small but not really a problem..
The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was cooked to order with plenty choice. Would definitely recommend a stay here
The shower was slightly on the small side.
I flew into UK from Seattle, WA USA and this is the first place I stayed overnight. This place has spoiled me! Phillip is the man that will take care of you like a family member. Its a small family oriented hotel owned by a husband and wife. They serve delicious breakfast and accommodate to your schedule. I had an early morning flight originally booked and Phillip went above and beyond to wake up earlier to prepare breakfast. I seriously think you need to check this place out if you are in town. I would stay at this place again anytime I am near this area. Affordable, great customer service and a true English black pudding experience like you have never had before. Cheers!
A very pleasant stay was had by myself, brother and a friend. The host was charming and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable, clean and homely and the breakfast was delicious. All up, tremendous value for money !
2nd time I have stayed and would defo stay again. Breakfast fantastic and only couple minutes of the motorway.
The managers were away so the owners were looking after us. They were very friendly! The place was clean and comfy, the was a small bar and breakfast included. We had somewhere to store our bikes overnight so we didn't need to worry about any rain. There's a couple of handy places to go for food nearby.
The Lodge was spotless, and there was ample car parking. The breakfast was also superb.
