Good parking, lovely clean room with big fluffy towels and splendid views

My husband at 5ft 10in was too tall for the shower. Too far out of town to eat anywhere else and vegetarian choice of one dish badly done. No drinking water on tap so 1 small bottle each provided to cover night glass and morning tea?! Got wrong breakfast.

It was quaint, old world, great service. And...a great back yard garden with a sea view. Free parking across the road.

The noisy fire doors when people just let them close.

The view of the bay was amazing. Woke up in the morning to the view of the bay from bed. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Made us feel very special.

The food was very good and the lounges and garden welcoming. Staff were friendly.

The family room was small with a small bathroom and small beds that were not very comfortable. Also, there is no noise sound proofing and we were woken several times by loud door slams, traffic outside window and we could hear conversations from the bar below. Also, for the price we paid, we could have rented a 2 bed cottage for a week.

I was interested in the history of this place and its link to Mary Anning and Elizabeth Philpott, Beatrix Potter and Jane Austen. It's charming and comfortable. I really liked the English breakfast, and the one dinner we ate there was excellent. I didn't even really mind the hike up the hill!

Excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed. Good size room. Walkable distance to town and harbour.

Items on menu not available. Steaks either undercooked or overcooked. Administration poor.

Nice breakfast room with good breakfast. Pleasant outside drinking area overlooking bay.

Rather small rooms. Steep climb from beach level. No Real Ale available. Very parsimonious with butter - always had to ask for additional portions, both at breakfast and in the evening.

Location, room, garden and friendly staff

The dinner menu did not have the right offer for me. I am trying to cut down and would have liked a lite bite other than a salad

Easy to find. Quaint and quirky. Convenient parking nearby for clients.

A bit of a grumpy reception. Slow breakfast .

The garden was fantastic with a super sea view.

Would have preferred an iron in the room as stated in the booking.

Nice lounge area and peaceful garden.

Bedroom was opposite a road junction and it was too hot to close windows, so traffic noise a bit intrusive. A portable fan in the room would have been useful.

I loved the room, the hotel and the ambience.

room had French windows onto balcony, with no real security for windows open in the summer. Price was steep for what is was, but assume inflated for the holiday season?

Room 10 The view from the room, the decor of the room and the shower room, the easy parking and the helpful and friendly staff.

A few cobwebs in the room, the partition wall between rooms 9 and 10 was inadequate meaning we could hear every word, cough and early morning song from room 9 (and presumably they could hear us) and the creaky bed

Staff very friendly. Good choice at breakfast

Bed mattress and pillows very uncomfortable. Bathroom very cramped, too much in it. Door opening onto the toilet very awkward. Windows needed replacing as permanent condensation. Room dark due to lalandi immediately outside hence no view.

    Lovely location, superb building

Staff were very pleasant, and polite however as they were all so young not a lot of interaction.
