A traditional country inn named after Shakespeare’s mother, just 3 miles from Stratford centre, The Mary Arden Inn has a bar, restaurant, garden and free Wi-Fi in public areas. At The Mary Arden, bedrooms are all decorated and furnished in a traditional style. They all have a bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities, and a copy of Shakespeare’s works. The hotel’s restaurant has an à la carte menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and a full English breakfast is served every morning. The friendliness of the people. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The accommodation was comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. I will definately recommend this place. Nothing.

Each room is themed from Shakespeare's plays and they serve delicious food in the pub below. The public transport from Wilmcote to Stratford Upon Avon is limited so you need a car if you want to see the sights. (However, there is a cheap park and ride just outside Stratford Upon Avon, so you don't have to pay the high parking in town).

Excellent choice of menu. There is a "Park and Ride" a short drive 3 minutes away on which we could use our concession bus passes.

Amazing old Inn - in a beautiful little country village. We ate dinner and breakfast there and food was superb. Lovely staff, very helpful and obviously love their jobs. We took train from Stratford-upon-Avon and it only took about 10min, then walked along the canals back there in the morning which took about 1.5 hours - lovely country walk, very friendly locals. Just an awesome weekend, thanks so much :) Pub under bedroom was a little noisy - we were there Saturday night - but we just watched TV for a while and noise settled early (11.30ish). We didn't mind at all, it was happy noise (people having fun) not scarey drunk types, but worth a note if that sort of thing bothers you.

Very welcoming staff. Excellent hotel of its type, lovely room. Very nice village location close to Shakespearean site. Would definitely return if in the area. Nothing to mention.

The staff were very flexible when welcoming us as the room was not quite ready. They also kindly inquired after my husband who wasn't too well. The breakfast scrambled eggs were superb! The Romeo and Juliet room was lovely. Didn't enjoy the bar meals much, eg the rustic hamburger was hard and indelible, burnt on one side and greasy.

The hotel was in a lovely part of the country and our room was very comfortable. The food was good and service very good even when the chef was left on her own to do waiting and setting tables, check out people and still kept a smile on her face. It was a warm refuge from a very snowy weekend. I would certainly visit again and recommend it to others.

The hotel is four miles outside of stratford however there is a rail station five minutes walk away and it costs 1.50 to make the five minute journey into stratford,the room was clean and cosy,the food was excellent and the staff very friendly We stayed on saturday evening 16th march our room was over the bar/resataurant and it was very noisy until the early hours.

Fantastic staff, all of them were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was the King Lear room with a four poster bed and lovely furniture, plenty of room for us and a great hot shower. The inn was superb value for money and we will certainly be visiting again. The mattress could be a bit softer but that is a personal choice for us.
