Staff were so friendly and helpful
A very good hotel with good food and atmosphere. Will certainly visit again.
That we could check in a bit earlier at our request and that there was no question that we were coming back late from a wedding and could access our room easily. The room was really nice and spacious and had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing and so were the views I wish we could have stayed longer.
Loved the views over the lake toward the hills. Staff very helpful and friendly, lovely log fire in the bar. Room was a good size and comfy.
Personally, I would like to be able to walk to other pubs and bars, but this is quite remote. I should have checked location so this is my fault!!
Staff were helpful with inquiries
A cosy bar with fire blazing . A lovely warm bedroom with lots of hot water and deep bath . The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was good value for the area. A nicely made gin and tonic. Will book again.
The two sweets we had were expensive and rather poor taste.
Clean and comfortable room with dual aspect overlooking the lake. Good to see refurbishment to some rooms taking place showing you care about the good services you provide. plenty of friendly helpful staff to see to your needs
The location, the staff, and pet was cery welcome Woukd return!
The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The food is good with generous proportions. The staff were outstandingly pleasant and helpful. Heck even the biscuits they give you with the tea and coffee stuff were excellent.
I really am unable to think of anything.
My husband and I spent a week at the Mary Mount Hotel, located just down the road from charming Keswick village in the Borrowdale Valley in England's beautiful Lake District....emphasis on "lovely." The view in every direction is a delight for the eye. The staff was incredibly helpful in providing us with directions and transportation advice. Due to our complete unfamiliarity with the local roads and knowing there would be frequent rain and early sunset times, we thought we'd rely on buses and taxis. For us it was the right choice. Our room had a splendid view of Derwentwater and the stunning hills beyond. The hotel is located on the lake's shore and there are ample opportunities to do what is done best there ....walk and hike. Dogs are welcome and a certain number of rooms are dedicated only to guests with dogs. The restaurant is small, cozy and has a good kitchen turning out hearty breakfasts, and full meals for lunch and dinner. The bar has a menu of small plates and sandwiches. The lounge is a bit small but in good weather there is a large well-sighted, multi level slate patio with tables and chairs that look out over the landscape and Derwentwater. Across the lower lawn on the lakes's edge is a small finger pier where the Derwentwater launch has a scheduled stop, and boats and kayaks can be rented. Our room was well stocked with coffee teas and cocoa; cream and an endless supply of cookies. Sweet! The bed was very comfy; storage ample and can accommodate clothes and hiking gear; shower and bathroom sized for adults. Again, I'd like to mention their most helpful and well trained staff. We had a lovely weeklong stay. Laura O., Rockville, MD, USA
beautiful location; courteous staff; large, comfortable room, easily accessible; convenient for transport including Derwentwater launch; easy parking; lots of garden birds encouraged by feeders close to windows
Everything was great, it's the second time we've stayed here and the setting and views, comfort of the room, etc. was just as good. This time we ate in the restaurant which was good too.
Really small détails but for a hotel of this level of comfort we think it'd be nicer to be able to order meals at your table rather than at the bar, and table-cloths would give a more classy and less of a cafeteria feel.
Beautiful Views and Grounds. Spacious room with a well equipped bathroom. Friendly and attentive staff. Location, Location, Location.
No WiFi in room. No baked beans or fried bread with breakfast. Small menu for dinner though meals we had were very nice.
Location is perfect. Hotel is spot on. Staff are superb. Food is good. We had a grwat break and will certainly return.
As with most hotels, It seems normal to charge £17.50 for a bottle of very average wine. I do wish they wouldn't do this. £12 quid would still give them a good 200% mark-up.
Lovely spot. Warm and welcoming. Friendly and efficient staff.
Service good, room excellent
the room, the food and general atmosphere of the hotel were very good and the manager was really friendly and welcoming. We will certainly be returning for a longer stay.
unfortunately there was some end of season works being carried out but it was not a major problem.
Ambience,service,menu,room,and the dogs
Everyone friendly can't do enough for you.
The situation was beautiful and near the lakeside and Lodore waterfall . The food was delicious and varied . We would certainly return as 2 nights was not long enough ..
The bedroom was in an annex and it was rather damp getting to the bar and dining room . May I suggest a large umbrella in the bedrooms !
The location is amazing being on the edge of the lake. You can get the lake launch from the hotel's grounds. The staff are lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Although our bathroom looked a little dated the shower was wonderful.
The only real negative for us was the short breakfast time of 8-9 am. It meant getting up a bit earlier than I would have liked!
The location excellent, friendly and helpful staff, exceptional dinner and meals. Well looked after.
Had to change room as room smelt - possibly smells from the kitchen. The bathrooms need some refreshers as smelt musty even in new rooms.
room was clean and quiet, staff were super
Friendly Staff and amazing views. Many walks and boat rides on Lake Derwent Water. Postcard View from our room.
Situated right on Lake side so views were fantastic. Staff were pleasant, helpful and always ready to help.
We did not stay long enough! Only had 3 nights.
