Main bar closing at 10pm .patio area next to restaurant the hedge is to high unable to see view. Seating area In front of hotel only had picnic tables ,could do with normal chairs for the less able.
Great staff beautiful location
Restaurant prices were a bit high.
Setting Restaurant for breakfast Helpful and pleasant staff
Bar was tatty Service slow in bar Only one tv channel working Very slow wifi
loved the food in the restaurant on both nights and the food in the garden bar on both days
could not get wifi
Staff all helpful and friendly. Food lovely. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Rooms comfortable with good choice of teas and coffee +bottle water..pleasant setting
Slightly limited restaurant menu.
Staff were very friendly and helpful despite it being bank holiday weekend and extremely busy with both residents and non residents. They went out of their way to help us celebrate our silver wedding and were professional and welcoming to all they served Beautiful location with high class food and drink The rooms were well equipped and provided top quality toiletries and tea tray items Wifi/phone reception wasn't the best but this is the new forest, if that's important to you perhaps stay in the city Can't wait to go back because we surely will one day
beautiful location , friendly staff , food very good, would come back
room could of been slighty cleaner
Excellent location along the river, very peaceful, food good and staff welcoming
Took our daughter her boyfriend and dog for the August Bank Holiday as a surprise. Rooms were very comfortable and the bed probably the best we've slept in for a long time. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and would think there was something on the menu for everybody. Beautiful location, very quiet and some lovely walks.
Rooms were just a little dreary and tired looking but not enough to spoil our stay.
Nice decor in room, good quality tea, coffee & biscuits, nice touch with the elderflower vodka! Breakfast very impressive choice of cooked breakfast & buffet.
Shower quite tricky to get hot water, electric showers might be better? Room a bit stuffy, wouldn't have slept if it had been hot weather!
Superb location,very helpful staff,comfy bedroom.
over cooked burger on bbq
Attentive staff, superb location, great food & just an excellent hotel.
The restaurant...the food was delicious & the complimentary liqueur after the mail was tasty. The outdoor barbequeue food was very tasty
The total ambience and the helpfulness of staff
The views over the river are pretty special - got to be one of the best spots on the south coast and we were received by very friendly helpful staff. We found the service and staff of the restaraunt excellent and the food was lovely. Will definitely come back.
Its quirkiness, room decor, friendliness and location
Inability to use powerful hand-held shower over bath without wetting floor and other areas of bathroom - curtain hung from ceiling might be useful!
Amazing spot with beautiful surrounding countryside and various historical interests to visit locally.
Awful, awful décor in our room which was painted, everywhere in a bright lime green ! this along with extremely dark furnishing did not make for a relaxing space, especially as the room was quite small.
Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. Particularly allowing us to store luggage after checkout so that we could go and enjoy more activities at Bucklers Hard. The surrounding area is beautiful and I would strongly recommend this hotel for walking enthusiasts. The option of a river walk into nearby Beaulieu Village is a truly worthwhile venture. Breakfast each day was very good with a wide variety hot meals and all you can eat for cereals/continental options
Hotel is more suited to drivers. If you do not have a car you will be limited in terms of what you can do. By no means a knock on the hotel itself but if you do not drive be aware that taxi fees are steep even for short journeys and if you come in by train you have little choice but to part with £20 to get to the hotel via taxi. Again not a knock on the hotel but do be aware of this as my negligence when booking the trip caused additional cost Restaurant food is good but can be quite pricey. Not many places to eat in surrounding area so the restaurant of the hotel is likely to be one of your only options in Bucklers Hard itself
Location and staff
Hearing the next rooms every movement and conversation
The location and our room was perfect, fantastic views, great food and the staff were effient and good natured. We enjoyed our stay both at the hotel and visiting the surround countryside in the New Forest, meeting friends and family.
Only downside is the beer was in poor condition - a bit of a let down as my partner is a keen beer enthusiast.
Welcomed us baby boomers with our small dog (Big market being missed by many hotels) Kwerky place, but loved our stay.
Not a thing
Friendly and helpful staff, well equiped rooms, nice setting
There is a resturant and pub serving different kinds of food and in summer they do a bbq. It was a nice day so we opted for the bbq. We ordered a burger, which was 9 pounds, and vegetable kababs, 8 ponds. The burger was just a burger in a bun with absolutely no sides and the kebabs were 2 very small sticks with tomato, mushroom, onion and a tiny bit of pepper, again, no sides at all. How they can charge that for what they produce is unreal! The room had some nice touches like fresh coffee, body lotions, teapigs etc however, the bathroom could have been cleaner
