Parked right outside room as was traveling with a smoker. Room was extremely clean and comfortable. The pub in the village very friendly and great food
no where to hang your towel near the shower so it had to be put on the floor outside shower cubical. No where to hang clothes in bathroom when getting changed except putting on toilet lid which is unhygienic. There wasn't a little something in room to say what time breakfast was and where and the fact that although continental breakfast was included In the price you could get a purchase a cooked breakfast, how to get on internet or any local information you were back and forward to reception in the rain
We thought the room itself was excellent with one of the best showers we have had in a hotel room.
The set up for breakfast. Had to ask how it worked and the attitude of one member of staff was very poor not showing a lot of interest . We had to resort to ask the chef on quite a few occasions to help us. We stayed 5 nights and didn't understand how it worked until day 3. It was a shame because it let down a lovely hotel.
The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble and they carried out their duties with a smile.
The room I was in was above some very loud equipment which came on at 6.20am and I was not able to go back to sleep because of it.
Staff very helpful and friendly on arrival
We stayed in room 6 and must have been above the main downstairs toilets, there was quite a lot of noise from the extractor fan throughout the night. The room had an open feel to it but had no seperation between the bathroom and bedroom which wasn't ideal especially when you needed to do your business.
We were impressed all round when we last visited it was The Old Durham Ox i booked after reading reviews and so pleased i did ....Standards are high and the young staff are a credit ... Breakfast good ....
The only one very small thing the fire door outside our room banged very loudly but was ok after customers either left the building or returned to their rooms.
Great hotel and staff .. stopped for one night on Saturday and could not fault the experience ... the young girl dealing with an awkward customer when I was booking out did a great job .. some people are never happy and love finding something wrong .. must lead a miserable life .. great hotel and would recommend to anyone and will be back .. :)
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Value for money was excellent.
Room was a good size really enjoyed our weekend, staff very friendly and the food was excellent. Rufford park was exellent for walking our dogs.
Our preference would have been a softer mattress.
Room decor lovely. Bathroom good. Food high quality.
Terrible noise in room 5 caused by an industrial dishwasher immediately below this room. This made it impossible to relax in the room.
Loved the food, the rooms, the information about the Maypole dancing and photos in the rooms, and the staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly.
In our room (6) you could hear a door closing noisely
Really enjoyed our stay and the staff were very nice . Found everything nice and clean . Will definitely come again .
Everything about this hotel was quality. All staff friendly and welcoming, spotless, great shower, lovely food (we ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay), comfy bed. Can't fault it
The staff were very friendly. The room and restaurant was nicely decorated and clean.
Our room was over the restaurant and the extractor noise kept us awake all night. We would advice getting a room away from there as it spoilt the stay.
The welcome we had was friendly and helpful, the room was superb with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Had the best night sleep ever on the comfy beds and pillows. Great location too for the Big Fake Festival, and a visit to the lovely Thoresby Hall. At such good value for money would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
No negatives at all.
Comfy bed, quiet room, great showers, nice village location.
Lunch Coffee Manager service - finding us alternative accommodation due to admin error. 10/10.
Not actually getting to stay there as it looked lovely

Very Clean, good food, friendly, great shower
No included hot breakfast,Bar lacked 'warmth' partly due to lighting. Wifi not working.
Lovely room Tastefully decorated Helpful staff Decent breakfast
The overall experience was worth the visit and the brasserie was truly scrumptious .
Downer in the room was no sockets near a mirror other than that nothing.
Clean, new, fresh, smart, tasteful decor
Kitchen staff slamming door from early in morning and loud hum every time hot water tsp turned on downstairs
It was great location so visit all the tourist attraction in the area.
The owner came to see us whilst we were having our meal we said it was my birthday, 10 mins later a round of complimentary cocktails had been provided, it was fantastic such a suprise and very gratefully received.
