The hotel is clean, but more attention to detail could be made in making it *spotless*
I have just returned from a 4 night stay for the World Dance Masters championships at the Winter Gardens, having stayed several times before each August. I've been coming to Blackpool for this event for over 10 years and the Melville is one of the friendliest hotels I've stayed in.
Check in was easy, as I didn't have the cash on me, the receptionist was kind enough to let me check in and may payment at some point later that day. The free Wi-Fi connection was good throughout from lounge to the room which is a rarity I find. The 24hr reception and lift are great.
My room had a fully opening window, flat screen TV, hangers, towels. Everything was clean and the bed/pillows were extremely comfy. I didn't book breakfast but made a payment for it at 330am knowing that I'd need it the next day. When it came it was piping hot, lovely sausage & bacon WITH beans, tomato, fried egg (runny yoke yay), toast, pot of tea, along with the usual cereals/fruit/jams etc. I was sat with a friend who didn't eat dairy or gluten and said she had brought her own things just in case, but having told the hotel in advance they had stocked up for her! Another friend was a vegetarian and they catered for him with a really nice vegi-breakfast. All this for £30 a night in the height of the August season. I'll be booking again for next year later today! :)
