Staff were great breakfast lovely bed warm what more do you want these people who leave negative feedback should be staying in a £400 a night hotel the things the moan about is ridiculous
No car part at hotel 2 streets away very expensive to park there
Location.. Staff and generally most things.
The shower only was tiny and the doors were a bit rickety. My only problem.
OLD,SMELLY, SMALL PLACE,
Location is excellent very central for everything
Room standards have slipped. Window wouldn't close and the net curtain looked like it hadn't been washed in years. Pubic hair in bottom of shower stray, bed mattress was very lumpy with springs gone in places, I would not book here again if other choices were available even the relatively cheap price wouldn't tempt me
This place is grim!!! Dirty rooms from sticky carpets to stained walks and rude staff who only take cash on arrival (tax scam)
Staff in reception two ladies
Creepy male at night time
The location for Central Blackpool and most of the amenities .
The Melville offers "limited free parking " ..this is NOT THE CASE. There is on-street parking but it is a very busy street. The room and shower room were not clean . There were 3 windows , only 2 had curtains , the other was a net curtain ( over-looked from another hotel ) Over-all a shabby, grubby hotel . I would definitely not recommend The Melville or stay there again.
Entertainment was excellent, staff friendly and helpful
Rooms a little dated
location..ideal for all the theatres excellent karaoke on the saturday night
Rude staff with exception of Tracey, Helen and her husband Cash to be paid up front (no problem to us as we had bought cash) but no debit or credit cards allowed lift far too small and safety hazard bedding clean but grey mattress awful very uncomfortable, also no mattress protector!! carpets badly stained flex on kettle too short..had to put kettle on floor to use plug from tv was in wall at the end of the bed but not secured onto wall.. my friend caught her foot in the wire twice
very good location parking outside
promised entertainment still waiting
Pros: Very good location for us (barely 2 min walk to winter gardens) Friendly staff
Cons: Our rooms were right next to the bar and which is incredibly loud and goes on til at least midnight. Our rooms were also right next to the ladies loo's so got to listen to other residents throwing up all night. Lights didn't work at all one morning (showering in the dark wasn't fun) We had 2 rooms, in one room the mattress had partially collapsed so not very nice to sleep on, there was noticeable water damage on the ceiling, the blinds and curtains looked like they had dust from several years on them. In the other, the bathroom door didn't close properly, the window couldn't be closed properly, there's a thick heavy pipe radiating heat so the rooms like a furnace, the back lid on the loo wasn't properly attached, the shelf above the sink was slanted to everything fell off it. We've been to Blackpool 3 times now and to be honest this was the worst of the 3 hotels we've used so definitely won't be going back.
close to town centre
beds rubbish, like lying on an ironing board, duvet like tissue paper, and full of hairs. bathroom not the cleanest and toilet moved when you sat on it, would pay extra to stay elsewhere,
Hotel staff were rude Breakfast times Bedroom carpet dirty Bathroom old, dirty 1 plug socket Hot Smelt Dirty room Very small Lift to small Floorboards creak in the bedroom Noisy Doors banging at night You could hear people from downstairs
The bar was spacious and well equipped, just a pity there was no service
Toilet was soiled, staff were miserable and ruse. Hotel smelly. Very noisy inside with doors slamming due to lack of door dampeners. Avoid if you can !!
No shower in the room. Hotel a bit dated. Squeaky floorboards.
It was around the corner from the town centre. That is all.
Advertised parking when there wasn't any. Up on the 3rd floor and the lift was broke. Asked for a double bedroom and instead got put in the last twin one. Room was filthy. And at 9.40 a man who worked there knocked on our door and didn't even give us chance to open it before he walked in. We could have been coming out of the shower, naked!!
Lift not working ,blonde rude receptionist,to be told no parking spaces then she told the next couple who booked in there was car space, dirty cups left in the room from previous occupiers, etc etc
the location was great
Breakfast time is complete mayhem there is no organisation what so ever and £5 pound for 1 sausage 1 egg a few mushrooms and half a tomato all swimming in oil we recommend strongly have breakfast somewhere else
Staff on reception
Bathroom old and not very clean. Staff at breakfast rude, when waiting she snapped" you' ll have to share a table.
they sponsored my charity l was doing and they found my wallet l misplaced.
l was moved to another hotel, without notice, and the staff even packed my personal belongings while l was not there, however they was quick to take my monet the day before, reason being Booking.com over subscribed the rooms.....
Good location next to the Winter Gardens where we were attending an event. Breakfast was good.
No lightbulb in the bedside lamp, unable to reach window to close it as it had been left wide open, very very noisy, very uncomfortable beds, water barely hot in bathroom, not enough sockets, hotel had no facility to pay bill by card so had to pay cash :-(
very polite staff and helpful room very clean tidy and plenty of space with every thing we need in there and close to were we needed to be
The location is very good being close to shops and the tower and other attractions. Although the one way systems make the town very laberynthine.
When we booked,2 nights, ten weeks before visit I was asked if we had any special needs. I said we both had limited mobility. So why were we put in a room where it was only possible to access one side of the bed? We left early next morning most unsatisfied.
