Staff very helpful
shower did not work and the toilet did not flush
Basic hotel, clean, good selection of breakfast options
Rooms (6)was clean but run down, Shower was hot but held together with mastic and bits of wood.
Initial approach would frighten most people off as looks run down from outside, inside doesn't fair much better. This was the only accommodation available at short notice so had no choice. Sadly run down and in need of modernisation in most areas.
Staff dealt with the early problems that we had.
We assumed that full English breakfast was included in the price not continental.
Very poor value for money - no management around which meant the high volume of noise on-site could not be dealt with - rooms were clean but poorly maintained - breakfast was completely self-service including hot drinks and clearing away your own table - £80/night was £15 above to rate quoted in the rooms and extortionate for this standard of hotel Noise was from a busy bar open until 1am but also from adjoining rooms - very poor sound-proofing and no staff around to manage this - Friday night until 2am and Saturday night around 4.30am We would not recommend this hotel
Friendly, helpful staff
Very noisy as I stayed on a Saturday night not realising there would be karaoke into the early hours. The staff kindly moved me to a room one floor up but then I had to cope with the noise coming from outside of the pub. Very student feel to the place, so unless you are either a very deep sleeper or up for a party, don't book here!
Large spacious room, clean and bright. The only member of staff we met was very helpful. Great location, close to Mount Snowdon and Anglesey.
Shower was not working very well as the hose was crushed restricting the flow. It would have been better if full English breakfast had been included in the price. The continental breakfast was not very appetising.
The Hotel is really a very noisy pub, with music blasting out until 1 a.m no good at all for a family.
the staff were very friendly on arrival and helpful. Our room was roomy and the view was brill. The room and bathroom was lovely and clean, we really enjoyed our two day stay.
We would of liked an English Breakfast in the price, didn't realise it was continental.yogurts were out of date one slice of ham and only two slices of cheese. there was cereals and toast. there was nobody about during the breakfast service to assist the guests. Stopped in Bangor before and we had full English Breakfast in with the price of our stay, but that hotel was fully booked this weekend
Property very tired. Shower - water pressure low Wifi never worked Noisy due to pub downstairs
friendly and helpful staff
lack of hot water
The sheets were clean.
The catch on the bathroom window was broken so the wind howled through all night. This wasnt helped by the fact that the bathroom door wouldn't close so I wasn't able to shut out the noise. It also resulted in the room door rattling because of the draft. The shower took absolutely ages to heat up. I was told that I should press the buzzer in reception if I needed anything but on the two occasions I did it was ignored. Breakfast was self service 'buffet style' with no tea or coffee available.
Young bar staff were very friendly and helpful, best part of the stay.manager let us leave our car in the carpark all of the day we booked out which was handy.
It is near the church. And the window can not be opened. It is a little bit scary. It is not morden at all.
very professional hotel, good breakfast, very nice staff.
just small hill going up to hotel, maybe its me iam not fit.
Close to the University and a reasonably sized room. Ok value for money.
Noisy... there was a bar below with music and it was not sound proof. Extremely loud voices at 6.00am in the morning as well. Breakfast was not good. Limited and the kind of thing you expert if you need a very early start.
Room was clean and there were good tea and coffee making facilities and an easy to use TV. When we finally found Reception(in the bar) the lad in charge (Joe) was very helpful.
The decoration was a bit tired and the carpets not very clean. There was noise outside as the Menai is also a lively pub, although at the top it was not intrusive. Lovely views. Breakfast was a bit unadventurous and there was no one to assist you. Instant coffee and juice from concentrate. The croissants could have been fresher and warmed.
the rooms were clean and spacious but minimal
no true public area other than the bar which was student orientated and for builder type residents.
It was like Fawlty Towers without any staff
Bangor is a beautiful place
We travelled from London & had expected to be able to buy food on arrival but this was not available & was told there were some local takeaways close by, on inspection I would not have given them the time of day as they looked dirty & I inviting. Local supermarket had closed so ended buying a sandwich from a local convenience store. Thi was my evening meal. I experienced the worst nights sleep that I have ever had. The beds were so uncomfortable & there were 3 to choose from in the room. As a breakfast was included I was looking forward to a really nice cooked breakfast alas this was not to be. There we're precooked sausages & bacon in a fridge, croissants, cereal etc and a sign asking you to clear away after you finished. We ended up going to Morrisons cafe to have a decent breakfast. The only contact I had from staff was the previous night when a young man showed myself & my son to our room. I have spent less in a premiere inn & travel lodge and had a far more enjoyable nights sleep & experience. The purpose of our visit was go to Bangor Uni's open day, obviously not having a good rest the night before somewhat took the edge of what was to be an enjoyable & exciting time for my son. If I visit Bangor again I certainly will not be staying in this hotel.
Friendly staff came to a secure door to book us in and also ran the bar at the same time.
Its a tired hotel good for contract workers. Breakfast was a help your self including boiling a kettle for tea & coffee
Clean and large room plenty of draw and wardrobe space.
Room and facilities are dated
