Friendliness of owners
Had a very comfortable stay here. The owners are very friendly and professional. And a good freshly prepared breakfast. Very nice, I will be back again!!
The owner greeted us with a tray of tea and genuinely cared about our comfort. The level of comfort in the room was good....apart from my other points.....
One of the twin beds was against the radiator and this made the bed very hot. Travelling with my sister or a friend........the shower cubicle opening into the bedroom is challenging for levels of intimacy and privacy.
Ideal location close to our daughter for visits but also close to Mendip Hills for wonderful walks. Friendly owners spent time with us and accommodated all our needs despite it being over the Xmas break.
From the welcome to the goodbye I am more than happy to give The Mendip Gate an Excellent plus ***** rating. A very welcome sanctuary after a difficult journey. Thank you
very nice place to stay nothing too much trouble excellent location great place to stay before your holiday great choice at breakfast
Excellent breakfast, good location and very friendly owner.
Nice place and lovely family. Breakfast is very very good.
Close to bristol airport. Very tastfully decorated and homely and welcoming. Nice log burner to sit by on arrival with a cup of tea. Somewhere to eat within easy walking distance. Good breakfast.
Bathroom very small but very functional so did not bother us for one night.
Friendly owner, fab breakfast, late check out (11am), lovely room
Late check in, couldn't contact anyone when we got slightly lost
Facilities Breakfast The landlady Despite being situated on a main road and facing the front my room was very quiet
size of the wash basin in relation to the shelf. It needed to be deeper to feel safer when cleaning your teeth
Very friendly staff who looked after us well.
Owners were really friendly. Cooked breakfast was amazing lots of choice. Great wifi connection.
Excellent ,well presented food in a pleasant, comfortable environment. The owners were very hospitable and friendly.
The owners are very welcoming from the first minute to the last. Clean and cosy. Breakfasts were delicious. Lovely wood burning fireplace to sit and relax by.
the excellent breakfast the owners are very nice and very helpfull
Good location from the M5. Easy to find. We had a very friendly reception from Sarah after arriving early to book in. It was very clean, comfortable. The breakfast was very good also.
Arriving early and being greeted by the hostess we were shown to our room which was very clean, nice and large and had a lovely very clean en-suite. The décor is fantastic with a lovely flow around the house. The none en-suite rooms get to use the fantastic roll top bath room which again is in good order. Lovely for a get away and better for a few days as the welcome is paramount to none
Not a dot!
The mendip gate was a beautiful B and B that was excellent value for money. The breakfast was divine and we weren't expected to wait too early for it. The couple that own it were so friendly and helpful.
It was cozy and very homely. The standard was excellent. Breakfast was lovely to.
Everything about this B & B was excellent. The warm welcome by the hosts with a pot of tea and Ginger cake on arrival was so lovely. The cleanliness and decoration of this beautiful house made you feel instantly relaxed. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay here again.
Extremely comfortable and ideal location for a day at Cheddar Gorge.
A cup of tea on arrival Easy connection to wifi
the owners Paul and Sarah were very welcoming and the guest house was clean and we were served a very good hearty breakfast. We would use this guest house again. thanks Dean and Sue
bathroom fan a bit loud but went off straight away not really a problem
We received a warm welcome and much-appreciated cup of tea on arrival. The décor of the house was really lovely and comfortable and the breakfast delicious. A great location for exploring Bath, Bristol and the Mendip hills. Good value for money - would definitely recommend.
The Guest House was right on the main road, which was quite noisy. Also the bathroom was fantastic, but it would have been better if it was en-suite.
