Score from 209 reviews Fabulous
the staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great !
the décor could do with updating as could the furnishings etc. building is looking and feels run down.it could have better curb appeal as the service is good inside
Only live down the road, but we were needing to move out for a few days while our house, which is being renovated, was re-wired. I liked that the motel was clean and the bed comfortable. Also loved the view of Winter Hill. There is a bar and social club attached, and, if I'd had some energy, it would have been good to go along for the quiz night. As it was, stayed in bed and watched TV. Bliss after living among brick dust for a week! Also liked location close to junction with M61.
Looks a bit tatty in places. 80s furnishings etc. The smokers' shelter is right outside the front door and my partner wasn't best pleased to be subject to beery banter from lads on a night out when he was arriving later in the evening.
Nice room, good pub atmosphere, excellent home-cooked food.
Nice lad on reception. Very helpful. Even gave me a game of pool.
No hot girls in the Zumba class :(
Comfortable, plenty of parking
A little dated
Proximity to the station. Very quite in the night. Good friendly staff.
Didn't appear like it was refurbished in the last 40 years.
Nightly entertainment good for middle aged upwards. Good beer, good staff, nice breakfast. However all overshadowed by the state of the accommodation.
The entire accommodation smells as if you have walked into a swimming pool. Very strong disinfectants used. But had to complain about the filthy conditions. I brought new family for a treat. But it was an embarrassing experience for me. They did come a clean the filth but it still was very tired. Be sure to wear flip flops in bathroom and on carpets. Sorry but that's how we felt..
The sheets were clean
Rooms very run down dirty an not worth the money
Karaoke was nice
Staff were friendly Price was okay
The edging on the built-in furniture was pealing away just about everywhere revealing the chipboard inside (a breeding ground for bacteria). Wallpaper was hanging off the walls. Radiator pipes were filthy. Curtains were hanging down. Mouldy bits in bathroom. I don’t know what was wrong with the bed but I fell out of it three times in the night – and before you ask I am teetotal. Kept banging my head on the bedside table because of its proximity to the bed, & woke my wife up every time that happened. When you emptied the sink in the bathroom it emptied into the bath. I fell off the toilet because the seat was loose! Advertised Wi-Fi worked when it felt like it which was not much. Breakfast was advertised at £5.00 but was actually £5.95. Not much difference but it should have been what is was advertised for. Never again
Poor decor and presentation of property. Breakfast should be included in that price. Would be better value then.
Close to Bolton Uni. Wi-Fi all round. All staff were warm and friendly.Breakfast was cooked fresh which was nice.Only had to ask any of the staff for something and it was done. Would go back again. Good job done by the owners and there great staff
The outside covered smoking area was right by the main entrance so you would have to walk close to those that would be using it. Not nice if you are not a smoker
Great welcome nothing to much trouble
Location and price for a short visit to Bolton
Very tired facilities, my room smelled like cat pee (smell from bathroom)
cheap and cheerful. just off junction 15 of m61.pretty quiet despite being adjacent to petrol station. clean enough.
room decor very dated. bit of damp on walls.
Very friendly helpful staff. Clean and tidy accommodation and very well priced.
The staff were amazing and could not have been more accommodating, for our stay for the ironman. We had to be up at 3am on the day of ironman and they had set out a buffet style breakfast for everyone. Special pasta dinner the night before. It was the perfect location to get to everywhere we neede to be. 10 mins to Pennington flash and Bolton town centre. Only 5 mins to the stadium. Family run business with a real family feel. Thankyou to everyone who looked after us!!
Staff were very friendly. Rooms cleaned everyday and the food is very nice.
helped with a late night check in
old style, not spotless
It felt like a home from home. I cannot find the words to describe how much I enjoyed my stay. It was superb.
Found a big Roach on the materass while sleeping! :(
Staff were friendly and helpful and free WIFI is a bonus.
Cleanliness was poor. We had ants on our windowsill in the morning. After informing staff we were just told "oh they are a nuisance aren't they?".
Staff were accommodating. Breakfast basic , but good value. Perfect for our requirements
Noise from people in room next to us til 3am.
Location handy for Bolton and Wigan. Very good value for money. Adequate room.
