Good sized room, large bathroom & both very clean and with windows that opened to let the fresh air in. The decor was tasteful and interesting; the TV was large with a clear picture and had BBC4 The food choice was appealing and delicious.

Lovely food available in the bar and great breakfast . Perfect location for our trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Hepworth Museum. Staff were really friendly and helpful - would definately stay again if I was in the area .

Sadly we were just staying for one night as were passing through the area, otherwise it would be a perfect base for a few days. Newly furbished, comfortable large rooms and lovely big bathrooms with a full sized bath, fluffy white towels. Hadn't booked for dinner but as we were resident we were found a table and we were so pleased as the food was delicious . Staff were excellent and very friendly. Fantastic value for money. Location was very good 5 mins from the M1 but extremely quiet. Thank you.

On last morning bedroom cold as central heating not on - reason unknown to us. At all other time heating perfectly comfortable.

I like staying at The Mews Hotel because of it's location - it is on a main bus route from wakefield/Ossett to Leeds. It is comfortable and the breakfasts are always cooked right and hot.

The evening meal was exceptionally good. It's a good family run hotel convenient for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield.

For my work, it is well placed. The quality is very 'English', not the 'sameness' and boring expected of the clinical commercial hotel chains. It was very clean and certainly all staff very friendly. The cuisine is good, and the liquid refreshment very adequate indeed.

Mmm. a difficult one.My colleague who stayed in room number 4 was unable to fully close the top window due to an enthusiastic ivy, hardly a refundable incident, but it was all we could find fault with.

There were lots of small things wrong- the fittings were broken in the bathroom, the wardrobe door lacked a pull handle, I had to hoover the room myself. Management was not around and dealing with things.

The pub food is good Handy location for Yorkshire sculpture park and amazing Barbara Hepworth museum

Food in the restaurant was excellent. HUGE portions!

Staff were very nice, friendly, and very helpful. We have a small dog he was spoilt by the staff, but what made it for us was putting us in a room with access to an enclosed garden. First class. We dined in the Hotel for three evening meals the food was very good and well served. I have been in the catering business all my life so I know a lot about food.

Bathroom which consisted of a shower and toilet quite small and wash basin located in bedroom. But all very functional and spotless.

Location good for ys Park and motorway for York. We had a very good meal on Sat evening.

The room could have been cleaner-dust on the top of the curtains- probably for some time!
