The location. The room, the friendliness and the breakfast
Comfortable, friendly, clean, well decorated Guest House in the heart of Whitby. Lots of advice on local amenities/attractions and restaurants from the owners Sheila and Mick. Close to the town and not far from the beach. Lovely sea views. Never been to Whitby before but will definitely go back.
At the top of the town which meant lots of uphill walking, then three flights of stairs. (Not a problem if you are fit)
Very warm welcome. Room spotless and some very nice touches, such as toiletries, cotton wool and buds etc. Even binoculars on the windowsill to admire the view. Fridge outside our room for guests use. Breakfast very good with a variety of choices. Would I go back...Yes.
No complaints about the guest house, but parking can be tricky. Having said that we went on Goth weekend and managed.
Everything, there wasn't anything that we didn't like.
Very friendly and nothing was to much trouble at all. Would stay again and recommend to people
Lovely house and the facilities were excellent. Breakfast delicious. We were made very welcome by Mick and Sheila and we're not surprised to see that most of their visitors have stayed before. We definitely will!
The easy going homely feel
Parking could be a problem
Everything, the owners, the breakfast and the room with a great view.
Bathroom very small
Bedroom facilities were excellent Morning breakfast was excellent quality and generously provided.
The stairs were a nuisance
Friendliness, food, comfort
The hotel was a long way from railway station, and uphill for the majority of the way. But, shortcuts can be found, so research before travelling.
Everything especially the little touch of a fridge being available.
Ease of getting there. Quietness of neighbourhood. Peaceful atmosphere. Excellent breakfast - wide choice, well presented.
Good service, great breakfast, friendly staff, just what we wanted.
Shower. Breakfast both in terms of food and service. Bed.
No table on which to work. Lacking in drawers and they were too low. Lack of free parking. Wifi very temperamental.
We liked the location, choice at breakfast, the friendliness of the owners and their recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
The room was rather small, with very little space to hang clothes or store cases. The room and small ensuite might be better for a single traveller, although admittedly the owners told us we would have a choice of rooms if booking direct.
My friend and I had a good stay at the Middleham, a good welcome on arrival, a very comfortable twin room on the second floor, and a really good breakfast each day. The hotel is very well kept and decorated, we would definitely return if staying in the area again.
Friendly staff very clean hotel ideal location from centre great place to stay
Lovely friendly hosts. Free on street parking. Very comfortable beds. Fantastic view of the sea. Good breakfasts.
The location was great. The owners were very friendly and helpful with little tips on where to eat and drink for the best offers.
A lovely family run b/b.
There was nothing I did not like
Hosts were fabulous! Sheila runs a marathon each morning serving a first class breakfast. Lovely atmosphere and immaculately clean. Bed very comfortable and generous teatray!
Having the Toilet in the middle of my bedroom ewas a First!! I appreciate that the room was exceptionaly small and the use of space was clever, however I would have preffered to have had a bathroom across thre landing rather than stuck in the middle of the bedroom!! The only thoughtless, tasteless point, but for me will the the one that stops me recommending or revisiting:(
everything, first time to Whitby, if you have never been ..... GO!!!
Parking can be a problem, but Sheila & Mick sorted permit, & pay & display car park within 2 minutes walk
Lovely B & B in a good location .Breakfast good and owners Mick and Sheila very welcoming and helpful,we had a great few days break.
