Rooms are available both with a private bathroom and with shared bathroom facilities. With its grand exterior The Mitre Hotel has retained its historic charm, but now features modern interior design in the bar and guest areas. The front desk is open 24/7. Placed next to Victoria Train Station, the Manchester Evening News Arena is a 5-minute walk away. The hotel is in the center of Manchester’s vibrant nightlife, and the Arndale Shopping Center is a few feet away. The hotel is located right in the centre of everything. The room in which we stayed in was beautiful and it had a lovely view from the window. The price for the room is definately value for money and I cant fault anything. The staff were very accomodating from the minute we arrived

I booked the wrong date and they sorted me out with a room straight away even though it was my fault. I would stay here every time in Manc.

I loved The Mitre. It's a lovely quirky old building and the staff were great. Loved the view of the cathedral from the window too. Can't get much better for location either. The only thing I would say is, if you want to use the TV, be aware you have to request a remote to use it and pay a small refundable deposit. We found out too late unfortunately, but not the end of the world!

we loved the hotel, we booked the executive suite which was fantastic! really modern, very spacious, comfy bed and a good view of the bussling city! on the door step was The Printworks, The Arndale Shopping Centre and Selfridges. Also three brilliant pubs. We were off to the M.E.N Arena and found the location brilliant. Defo will be stopping there again!!

The location is excellent and the rooms clean Having to buzz in and speak to intercom each time when entering, a key fob or card would be better

I loved the quirkiness of the hotel and it was really modern and contemporary in its design. Loved that. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. An 11 o clock check out was welcome and the 24 hour reception was great too meaning we didn't have to take our key with us in the evening. I think the bathroom needed a good spruce up and the fact that there was no mirror near a plug socket was a problem. Especially for 3 women sharing a room and all wanting to dry/straighten hair. The only other thing I didn't like was the curtains let so much light in in the morning that as soon as dawn broke, we were all awake. Black out linings would make a big difference. The facility on your website as well said that there was a late bar until 5am at the managers discretion but we got back to the hotel at 2am and the bar was well and truly closed. Just saying.

we were off to a concert at the MEN arena and when looking for a hotel nearby we saw the hotem advertised and after research the hotel came up as the perfect place, right in the heart of manchester!!! when we got to the hotel we were very pleased with our choice as it was a few minutes walk to the train station and the arena then we discovered we were in the centre of manchester - ideal for shopping which we did after our stay. we were able to leave our bags after checking out and collecting after we had shopped til we dropped before collecting and headed back home!!!! fab thanks my partner didnt like the sausages on the breakfast saying they could have been better but other than that we would reccomend and stay again if there was another concert or if we wanted to come to do some serious shopping!!!

The people, the location, the value - all of these were top notch at the Mitre Hotel. My visit to Manchester would not have been nearly as wonderful as it was if it weren't for the friendly and extremely helpful hosts. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you want to stay with the best people in Manchester and be in the middle of the city, this is the place to go.

Great location right in the centre of Manchester. Rooms at the front can be noisy though because of a main pub right across the hotel. Most parts have recently been refurbished; tasteful design. Staff is efficient, prices moderate. The building itself is very old, and even though most of the hotel has been refurbished, you still notice it because of the cracking stairs and intermediate doors in the corridors when opening/closing. Isolation in the rooms isn't good. Corridors should be cleaned better. Windows in the room were not at eye level, but much higher.

Great room, plenty of space, great bed (not excellent for the bigger person, but manageable), polite staff, great location, the menu seemed good although we didn't eat at the hotel. The Shower was faulty, I didn't realise until just before checkout, but I was disappointed, reported this to the staff, they were shocked and apologetic.

I stayed at the Mitre Hotel in 2005 and knew it to be well placed and a place with personality. It is easily reached by public transport from the airport, and is close to rail and bus stations. Good eating possibilities are nearby. The staff were helpful. I was happy once again with my choice. Like all old buildings such as this, the stairwells are steep and narrow, with no lift, but if you want upmarket, you choose elsewhere.

Many things went wrong: - no heating during the first night, poor window isolation with temperatures around 5°c, heating was off again in the middle of the second night. - tv didn't work - water heater for coffee didn't work - NO wake up call at 4:20a.m. when I needed it, the office guy slept on the sofa,... thank god my own alarm woke me up! and the worst: they overcharged me 20£ ! - no reaction from the lady in charge, no reaction on my last day, just some poor excuses. THIS HOTEL SUCKS! AVOID!

Central location, close to shopping, theatres, the Manchester Wheel and the NEC and of course overlooks the beautiful Cathedral. Olde worlde charm from exterior, modern and vibrant decor inside. Very friendly and obliging staff. Excellent breakfasts, really good value. Food in bars downstairs was excellent, lots of choice and reasonable prices. Would definately stay there again. Excellent price and location for a city weekend visit, shopping or going to see a show.

The location is excellent. We didn't buy any travel tickets during our journey in Manchester since all can be done with walking! Additionally, the breakfast is good, and I like the design of the hotel, which is quite stylish! The heater doesn't work!! We felt so cold in the night! Besides, maybe the room is a little old, the ensuite toilet looks not clean enough. Last, they do not provide slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
