Stayed at the Mitre on New Years Eve with a group of friends as we were going to a gig at the o2 arena and this hotel seemed relatively near. It cost around £7 for a 6 seater taxi to the arena and took about 10 mins. Was a lot more expensive coming back but I suppose thats to be expected on New Years! The hotel was fantastic, the staff were very polite particularly the lady on reception. The beds are really comfortable and they have a mini fridge in all rooms which comes in handy! The bathrooms are lovely too. It has a nice pub downstairs too. Overall would highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Greenwich or a gig at the O2.

The room was comfortable and the hotel well located for my business in the area. There was aplentiful supply of tea and coffee with fresh milk. The breakfast was abysmal by any standard of 'continental breakfast'. Over the two nights we had cereal (no choices just two boxes left by staff), yogurts (on the first night only), croissants that were past there best, and 'fresh' fruit (each day we had two orange and on both days they were so old they no longer had and juice in them) the bannas were ok.

The mitre is ideal for exploring historic Greenwich; only a few minutes walk from the station, Greenwich Hospital, Queen's House etc. Bar meals were good and with ample size portions based.. The receptionist could have been a bit more welcoming

Quality of the refurbished room. It was more like a B & B than a hotel.

Beds clean and comfortable, furnishings obviously new, but why have the management wasted money on putting in a kitchenette(with no pots/pans) and a microwave when the rooms which have just been refurbished, will stink of cooking? The other criticism is the bath is so close to the toilet that you have to climb in the bath from the end,and you cant push the shower screen away from the bath. And the bin hadnt been emptied, and only small bars of soap supplied. Left standing at bar for ages before possible to check in.On enquiring what time breakfast was, guy at reception looked sheepish and said its already in your room!!This was at 6pm and we could have been checking in even earlier at say,2pm.Of course the next morning the 2 small croissants were stale and hard. When we went to check out we showed the receptionist an orange that had been left for us, it looked like a shrivelled head and even she said it looked 2 weeks old! Apparently breakfast used to be served downstairs but the management have stopped this, presumably to save money.

The room was lovely we were pleasantly surprised. We had a little kitchen area, hob, fridge, microwave, sink. The room was very bright and very clean. We would certainly recommend it. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we took the stairs first time (Big mistake) as they were very narrow. Used the lift for the remainder of the stay. The stairs as they were very narrow and seemed to get worse the higher you got.

We liked the atmosphere because of the oldness and quaintness of the pub, the helpfulness of the staff, and the central location.

The rooms were newly refurbished and the bath was lovely. Great location if visiting Greenwich. We had booked a double but ended up with a Twin room with no warning. There was a small kitchenette in the room but no pans!

I specifically booked the Mitre Hotel because it had a Sullivans Bar like the Regent Palace in London and a good food menu at reasonable prices. I was horrified to arrive and find the bar was shut for re-wiring and they hadn't even let me know. They had no food or drink in the hotel at all except a microwave in my room and tea/coffee so I had to go out on the streets having travelled all day and buy fast food to cook myself which I could have done at home. I had no breakfast (even though they charge extra for that) and the hotel is really shabby. It's either just been taken over and the new owners are doing it up but it should never be open to guests in this state. The owners rectified their mistake and gave me a brand new room because I refused to go back to Canary Wharf but what was supposed to be a break in Greenwich with a nice pub and nice food was a total disaster and had I been told the pub was shut I would have gone somewhere else.

The best thing is the pub in ground floor. The rooms are ok but the public spaces are like Disneyland's Manor House after 30 years of abandonment

The room was clean There is a generator working 24 hours right next to where the rooms are. It is impossible to sleep. Therefore the hotel does not provide for the very essence of its existance which is a room to sleep. Makes all the rest irrelevant.

Friendly helpful staff One of the party had poor sight and the lighting to the lift was inadequate. Also the room was very noisy all night (which was not the hotels fault - just its situation). It made it very difficult to sleep at all.

Very friendly member of staff who was very helpful. Reception area poor as it are based in a pub. No record of my internet booking when I arrived, I was lucky that they had 1 room left with twin beds although I selected a double. Duvet cover too small and lots of vehicle noise as it is positioned on a main road. Room appears to have been recently modernised and was a pleasant surprise when compared to the reception area! Lift is in need of an upgrade. Bath too small and the shower did not get very hot. Sorry but it won't be my first choice next time I visit the area. My comments only serve I hope as constructive criticism.

When we found out that the water taxi (clipper )stopped at greenwich it changed the whole visit by the way we got into the city and its cheap and no traffic. Rm 202 needs looking at, the bath room shower screen does help getting in or out of the shower ,apart from this I would stay again :-)
