Score from 824 reviews Good
It is situated in the high street close to everything, easy parking, also great location for walks. It is a beautiful building inside and out, extremely comfortable beds, we had a double room(2 I think) which could possibly fit 4 people.... Great breakfast and the owners and staff are really lovely.
There was nothing we didn't like.
A very warm and friendly welcome. The decor was to a high standard. Excellent quality breakfast. Very comfortable bed with modern en-suite. Good size room. Great location to use as a base for exploring the area.
Location Breakfast View from room
Bit noisy - not too good if light sleeper.
Position, facilities, excellent breakfast and friendliness
Very clean and comfortable, staff pleasant and efficient. Excellent quality breakfast.
Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Very comfortable room and bed with excellent facilities - we slept very well, and woke fully refreshed. Excellent breakfasts - the local sausages and the hosts' own marmalade were superb. Many thanks to our hosts for their suggestion to visit the SS Great Britain in Bristol Docks - a great day out.
Location and breakfast.
The welcome when we arrived early, not too good
The hotel is easy to find on Chipping Sodbury high street, my room had a lovely view, my room was very clean with a nice decor. Nice touches such as a bottle of water & a glass by the bed & a spare blanket in a cupboard. Tea & coffee making facilities, TV & Wi-Fi if required. The shower was big, towels & nice smelling handwash & hair/body shampoo provided. The owners & cleaner were friendly & helpful. A great experience.
Nothing, I couldn't fault it.
Friendly service nice breakfast and relaxed atmosphere.
Road is a little noisy but that is acceptable given the location.
Ideally situated for our needs. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfasts were nice.
Nothing really although my wife had trouble turning on the shower.
The room was very large and well furnished with a Chesterfield sofa which had plenty of room to work around it! The breakfast was very tasty and the owners were very helpful and took great care to ensure we were OK. we would definitely go back.
The room was on the side of the building by the pavement and unfortunately, the very nice pub opposite, with real ale, was very busy with very enthusiastic patrons who stood outside drinking and chatting. It was a Saturday night!
Unusual listed building. Great view down the High Street
Opposite noisey pub (Friday night)
We loved the location of the hotel - couldn't be more central to the town and we didn't suffer any road noise. Also loved the old building and views from the window.Quality of breakfast was high.Accommodating hosts let us in before 4 pm which was a bonus.
We didn't like the steep stairs to the second floor and shower was pretty tight. Room was compact but adequate. Bed was also too small for us (husband is over 6ft). Probably worth spending out to get a superior room on the first floor with hopefully a bigger bed.
Huge room, large bath, powerful shower, huge bed, great location.
very comfortable room excellent breakfast
Extremely friendly welcome and service. Ambience.
A very welcoming atmosphere. My husband is at present needing to walk on crutches. We were given a ground floor garden room - ideal in every way. The breakfast was beautifully presented and a pleasure to eat. We would definitely return.
There was nothing to dislike
Great, clean, artsy place with amazing tasty classy breakfast!
Very comfortable, pleasant ambiance, welcoming hosts who were very helpful with my transport issues for the next day. Lovely breakfast too.
Nothing to dislike.
Great as a one night stop over on our wat to south wales
I loved the Moda House. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful with suggestions for outings and walks, and it is wonderfully central to many great places to visit. Beautiful countryside, and Chipping Sodbury is an attractive market town.
Very Clean Comfortable Room. Good Quality produce used with breakfast. Very good b&b - would recommend.
The only criticism I would have is concerning the atmosphere in the dining room for breakfast. It is a bit uncomfortable. There is no low level background broadcast /radio/news feed and the tables are close together. As such people try hard to talk in hushed, almost deathly tones but can still be heard by everyone else in the dining room - and they are aware that despite whispering they can be heard by everyone else in the room. Having to chat in a whisper is uncomfortable. We listened to people 'hush talk' about everything from the quality of uk toast to the opinion that sports pages in broadsheets should not include soccer reports. The atmosphere for breakfast is uncomfortable for what is a bed & breakfast, and a Classic FM, Radio 2, Five Live etc on a low unobtrusive volume broadcasting news / easy listening/classical music would help.
The helpfulness of the owners, the giant bed, the full English, what was there not to like?
