Excellent breakfast and value for money, host welcoming and informative on arrival
Lovely welcome from Lesley and excellent breakfast.
The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was huge I ordered smaller portions. Lesley was very helpful with directions and eating places. Altogether a very nice break will be returning next summer.
It was chilly even though it was August. Perhaps a little heating in the morning say an hour for breakfast and same again around 8ish just to take the chill off the room. But a very nice place to stay.
Lovely warm welcome. Great breakfast. Plenty of brochures for local attractions.
Friendly people, nice breakfast, good location
Clean, friendly, well-located and good value.
this hotel is a short one-block walk from the train station. A close walk to the town center, beach, pier, and shopping. A number of grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Buses are right outside the door and run frequently to Lytham, Blackpool and Preston, for a quick day excursion. Staff is very attentive to needs of the guests. Tourist information readily provided. Breakfast was great. Cable TV was very good. Excellent wi-fi.
Very pleased with the room in every respect clean beautifully furnished, very spacious and light (we had a family room) very helpful owner too
everything, big clean room with flat screen tv showing all the Freeview channels, comfortable bed, first class breakfast. Will be back!
Greeted warmly on arrival at this very clean hotel, and shown to my room without fuss. No strict rules, key to front door as well as my room, tea and coffee plentiful, and a clean, comfortable bed...what more do you need for an overnight stay :-) Despite being close to a busy main road, there was no noise from traffic, so that was an added bonus. I wasn't able to stay for breakfast, sadly, but I am sure it was delicious for those who did. The guest book seemed to indicate that there were many satisfied guests. The Monarch lived up to my expectations and I would stay there again and recommend to others wanting an inexpensive B&B for a night or two. Ideal for attending Lytham Prom, which is why I was there :-)
Steps up to front door, which had a handrail but it didn't reach to bottom step, so there was a bit of difficulty for me, and possibly others as well.
Staff helpful and friendly, food very good.
Hotel is on a busy junction, so traffic noise is a problem, nut if you can put up with this then its a nice little hotel, convenient for the prom, town centre, railway station etc.
Very friendly welcome. Good facilities & food.
Shower could have been a bit roomier.
Only stayed 2 nights one before a flight and one after but was made very welcome. Bedrooms very clean, good breakfast. Really well situated for the airport. Excellent value for money.
Nothing in particular.
Quiet, super clean, VERY comfortable, perfectly equiped, freshy fitted and decorated room and shower room. Very homely and welcoming place to stay with an extensive choice for breakfast which was perfectly cooked. Superbly convenient location. Onsite safe parking AND bus stops outside (Preson/Blackpool), station a few seconds walk, beach and shops/restaurants a couple of minutes walk. Really excellent value. I will certainly return.
A very comfortable, good-sized room with ensuite on the ground floor. Use of small fridge in dining room - so we could store sandwich fillings etc. (My 94-year-old mother was unable to get out again in the evenings to a restaurant) We were also given the freeom to use our 'breakfast' table for our sandwiches. The hotel owner was exceptionally kind and helpful.Breakfast was great!
Your review questions didn't include who we were: Daughter and elderly mother! Be good if you could add 'Other'.
Very nice, clean, and friendly staff
Very friendly staff and a tasty breakfast. A very good location for the centre.
Room sizes vary, our room was small with a very tiny bathroom. If booking online, make a quick telephone call to request the bigger double room, which we had a look at and it was a lot more roomier.
Nice homely B and B .. Owner was friendly polite helpful .. Room was well suited for our needs .. Bed was comfy ensuite was clean .. Full English for breakfast but one of us wanted something lighter and that was not a problem. Shall be staying again.
Can not fault anything.

There is nothing to dislike.
The location is great. Right next to the train station and a short walk from the beach and shops. Lovely warm welcome, brilliant breakfast and no fuss.
Bathroom small but perfectly functional.
