The location was on the corner of a 5 road junction. I had to be very careful when exiting in my car

The welcome we received was excellent because we felt that not only did we know about the hotel and its facilities but we were able to ask about the surrounding area too. Much welcomed advice was on the transport system which we would not have used, having taken our own car, but were advised to do so due to limited parking facilities in Blackpool.

The room was very small.

The owners were lovely and very welcoming, offering to carry my bags up to the room on arrival and more unusually departure. Breakfast was lovely.

Decor in need of an overhaul, but if given the choice between that and cleanliness with good food would choose the latter every time.

The owner was very friendly & made us feel very welcome & let us stay 2hrs past the check-out time.The breakfast was absolutly lovely, every thing you would wish for in a full breakfast,with a fill up of more tea or coffee.

A lack of mirrors in the room (especially near plugs) meant two girls found it pretty hard to get ready at the same time!

Great location, walk to restaurants and shops, on site free parking and wi-if. Clean comfortable rooms, superb cooked breakfast, family run.

The value for money was exceptional, location, owners where very friendly and accomodating and made special arrangements for me. The decor was tasteful and surprisingly modern, very clean.

I could hear EVERYTHING going on in the bathroom next door. Also, I just assumed soap for the shower would be provided so did not bring my own. Not a big deal, but had I known no toiletries were provided I would have brought my own.

The booking website said 7 miles from Southport which was where we were that evening. 7 miles as the crow fles. Trouble is we are not crows. It was actually 35 miles.

I chose the Monarch because of its predominantly good reviews ,I can honestly say if you want a friendly, clean, b and b with service that always comes with a smile look no further

Very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfast. I was on business in Lytham St Anne's but I would return to use the hotel if I wanted budget accommodation to go bird watching or wildlife watching locally, as there is tremendous scope for both. I would also feel comfortable booking in with my 7yr old daughter, as they were very welcoming and accommodating to a guest with a young child.
