The efficiency and courtesy of all the staff could not be faulted. The quality of the food in restaurant and bar area were both very good. The room service and cleanliness was excellent. We had booked a "superior" double room and on arrival we were allocated room 229. This room was very hot, appeared quite compact with a small double bed and a very narrow ensuite shower only facility. It also looked over the flat roof of the dining area and noisy ventilation ducting was evident, especially when the window was opened. We complained to reception and was told it was a "superior" room, I was intrigued to know how small the standard rooms were ! Initially we were told that a room swap could be difficult as the hotel was busy, however within 10mins we were shown room 202 which immidiately felt much cooler, more spacious with a large double bed and bath. This made our stay very comfortable but it would have been very different if we had remained in 229.

the room was great, overlooking the pool. The staff were attentive and helpful. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive. The pool (inside and out) though small was perfect. The Jacuzzi was wonderful. We opted for half board after initially booking b and b. We are so glad we did as the food was excellent with a good choice of dishes. You had the option of choosing a steak for a small extra charge if you wanted. My husband is suffering from cancer and needs encouragement to eat. But he enjoyed all the meals and they were happy to tweak them to suit him. Altogether a very special holiday forboth of us. because of my husbands health he can't walk to far so the walk into town was too much for him. But for anyone with reasonable health and mobility it is an easy 10 or 15 minutes walk. For those that need transport the bus stop is just outside the door with a no 21 or 23 bus the most frequent. Get a bus timetable from Liberation station in town. It's really easy once you get that. Ask for the Hotel de France stop. This will drop you off almost outside the monterey.

Politness and courstesy shown by all staff. Good value for money restaurant. Good bar. It is about 15 mins walk from the Liberation Bus Station. The Explorer guide shows that a no.26 bus stops at the adjacent Hotel de france which would have been greeat if the timetable gad been a bit more cistomer friendly.

Friendly atmosphere on arrival, great customer service - all staff were excellent. Location was good, we didn't have a car so walked into 'town' each day which took about 10-15 minutes. Food was excellent - we had breakfast each day and chose to eat in the restaurant 2 out of the 4 nights we were there and enjoyed our meals although the choice was not extensive.

A good value hotel with excellent friendly staff. A great blend of informality on the one hand and formality on the other. The spa, pool and steam room were much appreciated.

Well! What can I say apart from we liked it all, the staff were very helpful and pleasant, the food was excellent and every thing was very clean, the bedrooms were spacious and beds very comfortable.Would certainly recommend it to anyone. It was a bit further out of town than we thought but after we walked it a couple of times it didn't seem so far.

It was adequate for my friends and I both in comfort, and accessibility. Could not criticise anything - just slightly dated decor wise but no problem. It was very warm in the corridors and rooms and does not have air con but with the windows opened it was fine.

we only stayed one night so it is hard to evaluate the hotel. but we enjoyed our stay and would probably look to stay there agian possible next year. the staff seemed very nice and helpful, an our waiter was quick to advise us on our meal choice. nothing much to complain about really. i would have appreciated a soft drinks machine in the hotel, you know the type with crisp and chocolate. it would have saved me a trip up the road to the supermarket to purchase water and a late night snack etc, other than that everything seemed ok.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and good location Few small things such as restricted gym facilities etc but again one has to bear in mind that for an island, these are more than sufficient facilities

The one way traffic system in St. Helier caused us some difficulties when we were trying to find the hotel, however the struggle was worth it and free car parking was available. The staff were helpful, friendly and cheerful. The room and bathroom were spotless, the outdoor pool area was private and accessible from our room and the indoor facilities were also easy to find. Extra towels were available for the pool. The food was very good and excellent value. Brand new digital flat screen TV's were installed whilst we were there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The provision of flimsy plastic tumblers in the bathroom instead of glass ones.

“Situated an easy 10mins walk from the start of the shops in St Helier, another 5 mins will get you to the beach or main bus station. Plenty of eating establishments in the area. The room was clean & comfortable. Breakfasts were of ample proportions served by very pleasant staff. An ideal reasonably priced (room £60/night) base for touring the island.” Stuart, Derby |

“The staff go out of there way to make you feel at home. The hotel is great value and I have stayed at this hotel this year for the second year running. I am also thinking of going back next year 2012 as my Grandaughter age nine is insisting on going back.” Leslie, Windsor |
