Excellent hotel with great staff and good food. This hotel is unusual in that it has sufficient staff to ensure smooth running.
27 April 2015

Nice food, great value for money.

Good rooms quiet location good food

The rooms were large enough to allow dogs at a small extra charge, but dogs are not allowed. Ours had to sleep in the car.
The hotel was very comfortable with large rooms and the bistro food was excellent. Breakfast was very well done in a nice and relaxed atmosphere.

The staff were most attentive and friendly and attended to all our requests. The meals were excellent, breakfast was first class and we had a wide choice of evening meal with the food freshly cooked from local produce.

Toiletries were rather sparse and although there were two bath towels there was only one hand towel (minor quibbles really)!
The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was spotless and modern. The food was excellent, both in the evening and at breakfast time. There was a warm, friendly atmosphere in the bar.

10 December 2014
As I was here for work the breakfast was a little late at 8.30am which meant I wasn't able to have any. If you need to leave before 8am as I did, remember to tell the staff as the gates are locked.
Everything at this Hotel was to my liking, the food was good, the room was nice & a decent size with a good tv and wifi reception. I would definitely stay here again when in this area.

I thought the price was high for the standard on offer but overall no major issues.
The room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked very well. Limited toiletries but the towels were plush and clean. The restaurant was good, food selection was limited but the quality was very good. The staff were all very polite, helpful and attentive.

The fact that we only stayed the one night‼
The location of The Moorings is ideal for the Metro Centre and Beamish. The accommodation is first class, the evening meal was excellent and the breakfast was first class. The staff were very welcoming.
4 November 2014
I have stayed at the Moorings about five times. This time I thought the standard of cleanliness had dropped & breakfast portions were reduced
Friendly staff, good food & comfortable beds
4 November 2014
Decor of rooms is a bit dated and could do with a bit of modernization. The taps on the sink being non mixer type meant that the hot water was too hot Shower curtain rail did not fit around bath tub The dust lodged on the bathroom fan and dried flowers
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was excellent. Good quality and fresh A special thank you to Steve the manager and mr Craig Archer the owner. The location is excellent situated away from built up areas to enjoy the fresh air but close enough to the towns and places of interest Rooms were quiet and comfortable
