Absolutely unfaultable in all areas. Staff can't do enough for you. You won't find a better full English breakfast and the Bistro serves excellent food in the evening. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Brown sauce is not HP!

Have stayed here twice before. Suffice to say I travelled twenty miles out of my way on public transport to stay again. An overall excellent experience.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.the problems we had were dealt with immediately without fuss. The food was very good, they even provided my husband with gluten free bread and sausages at breakfast which rarely happens. The room was not serviced on the Sunday although it was done as soon as we mentioned it. On a personal note I didn't like the corner bath and feel a good shower cubicle would be more appropriate.

Lovely room, excellent breakfasts, nothing too much trouble for the staff who made our stay such a pleasant experience. Food also very good in the Bistro. Didn't try the restaurant but it looked very popular. We chose the Moorings Hotel because of the excellent reviews it had received and we were not disappointed. We will stay there next time we visit the area. Would really recommend it.

I thought the room had been very recently built/refurbished as it was so pristine and new-looking, but apparently this was not the case. There was a wedding party taking place when we arrived back about 23.30 but we could hear nothing from our room. We only met 2 staff but both were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady serving breakfast. Breakfast was very good for the price we paid.

The hotel feels as if it is in a remote location that is perfect for those that like this kind of hotel. I like this style of hotel very much. The rooms are clean. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom and showers are bright and clean. There is an attached restaurant. Breakfast is served upstairs in a well illuminated room (nice windows). I eat more eggs than others and substitute vegetables for potato or bread. The manager met my need here - as he told me I could have as many eggs as I wanted at no extra charge. So breakfast was perfect for me. On the first night, I ate dinner in the downstairs restaurant. The wait for the food was a bit longer than I wanted - but it was worth the wait as I ordered the 16 oz prime rib steak. It was prepared to perfection. This is minor - but can really help: There needs to be an iron in the room. For some, a hair dryer is helpful too. I had to use a small round coffee table pulled toward an outlet as my computer desk. This arrangement was comfortable for me as the chairs were the right height. However, if you like a large desk space for working, you will not find one here. On the second night, I went to the restaurant for dinner, but after waiting 15 or 20 minutes with no approach with even a glass of water from a waiter, I decided to leave and find another restaurant. Americans are used to very fast service. For us, a glass of water should be on the table within 3 minutes of being seated, and the order should be taken within 5 minutes. The food is excellent - but Americans cannot be ignored for that long without consequence. To be clear - even in spite of this experience - I would still rate the staff as friendly. Maybe the English just approach service a little differently than Americans? This explains my "recommendation" below. If you cannot wait for the service at this restaurant, then I would just drive the 5 to 10 miles to any of the hundreds of restaurants nearby.
