Friendly helpful staff, excellent food, comfortable and very clean room. Would definitely return.
GOOD PARKING-SAFE. GOOD BREAKFAST. NOT FAR FROM SHOPS
A LITTLE EXPENSIVE .POOR VIEW.
Everything at this Hotel was to my liking, the food was good, the room was nice & a decent size with a good tv and wifi reception. I would definitely stay here again when in this area.
As I was here for work the breakfast was a little late at 8.30am which meant I wasn't able to have any. If you need to leave before 8am as I did, remember to tell the staff as the gates are locked.
The room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked very well. Limited toiletries but the towels were plush and clean. The restaurant was good, food selection was limited but the quality was very good. The staff were all very polite, helpful and attentive.
I thought the price was high for the standard on offer but overall no major issues.
The location of The Moorings is ideal for the Metro Centre and Beamish. The accommodation is first class, the evening meal was excellent and the breakfast was first class. The staff were very welcoming.
The fact that we only stayed the one night‼
Friendly staff, good food & comfortable beds
I have stayed at the Moorings about five times. This time I thought the standard of cleanliness had dropped & breakfast portions were reduced
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was excellent. Good quality and fresh A special thank you to Steve the manager and mr Craig Archer the owner. The location is excellent situated away from built up areas to enjoy the fresh air but close enough to the towns and places of interest Rooms were quiet and comfortable
Decor of rooms is a bit dated and could do with a bit of modernization. The taps on the sink being non mixer type meant that the hot water was too hot Shower curtain rail did not fit around bath tub The dust lodged on the bathroom fan and dried flowers
Realy liked it perfect staf , excellent food .
Friendly pub atmosphere, but the food was excellent, what a pleasant surprise.
Having to go back to my wife's cooking.
We booked for 1 night as a quiet break away from family life. The accommodation is separate from the pub so very quiet. We ate in the restaurant & the food was 5* quality, the seafood lasagne was delicious. After our meal we had a few quiet drinks in the bar before returning to our room, which was spacious & well equipped. We will definitely be back, maybe to a hot tub room!
Good food and comfort level
Unable to obtain early breakfast on departure but were offered sandwiches as a substitute
we liked everything.the food.the staff.the room.the bed.the restaurant.the bedroom was bright and cheerful.the bar was class.
nothing to dislike
The friendly staff in the bar / restaurant . The excellent food and the hotel was within easy drive to Beamish
The receptionist wasn't very welcoming as we arrived but then she did show us to the room and explained everything to us. Also the room (5) was nice but it was too hot as it is next to the boiler room so next time we would prefer another room
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Was unable to connect to wifi.
Clean and contemporary facilities with French doors to a patio area. Bathroom facilities and towels Comfortable bed Good evening meal and breakfast
Rules on own food seemed a bit draconian.
When we first arrived at the Moorings we were greeted by the most friendly staff. We were taken to the room and it was very clean and nice outlook. We booked for a meal in the evening which was delicious we would eat there regular if we lived nearer. Breakfast was just as nice. Would highly recommend this Hotel.
Friendly staff.Lovely room.Good food.Nothing was to much trouble.Good bus service into Durham
Entrance to the restaurant looking a little tired.
The staff were very good, the food was excelent well worth a visit if you want a quiet night in the pub with a great meal
Close to Beamish, Durham and the motorway Excellent staff, lots of nice touches.
Staff; friendly, attentive, courteous. Room; clean, tidy, views from windows excellent, bed comfortable double. Not disturbed by any noise slept very well. Meals; Evening meal; taken in public bar outstanding! Should have realised by tables being booked up by locals - thank goodness I ordered tables for meals at time of booking room. Position; close to start of walks so no need to drive everytime.
The accommodation was excellent and the food outstanding. All staff very friendly and ready to help.
Room lovely, clean and bright - food in restaurant good and lots of it.
Room with hot tub outside and although we did not want to use it, it was uncovered and dirty.
Everything, as we pulled into car park the beautiful horses in the field were a welcoming site this was the start of a lovely break booked only the day before after a long hard stressful time for me my sister joined me and together we had a really enjoyable experience. Would love to stay again in the future.
Although very comfortable the bed was slightly too soft .
What more can I say, 10 out of 10, superb
nice staff, good bed and shower, plain but good food
nothing – at this price it was really good value
