Staff very friendly, location lovely, bedroom clean and comfy. Fantastic food and breakfast was fresh, hot and very tasty and we are both hard to please when it comes to food. We checked out later than we should have done and arrived late but they could not have been more accommodating, helpful and welcoming.
Not a good place to go if your looking for a lively time but can not knock the hotel itself. But go here if you want anything else but nightlife.
Location suited my purpose. Good breakfast. Certain staff good.
Small rooms, very poor WiFi. As a resident, I was shocked to be refused a sandwich at 10:00pm.
The accommodation was very comfortable and the food excellent. We have booked for a similar period next year.
There was nothing not to like.
The location, staff, rooms and especially the food make this an unmissable place to stay.
Location on the edge of the moors was great, quiet village, very pleasant staff, excellent food, wonderful outlook, room heating excellent.
The front door buzzer was located below our room and sounded every time that door was opened. Relocating the alarm would improve the situation significantly.
Excellent restaurant. Very quiet location which is either a plus or minus depending on your preference.
Bedroom was immediately above the bar, so a bit noisy.
Great location and friendly staff. We were in room 7 and a good size bedroom and bathroom. Lovely bar area with open fire and the food was excellent. Had a nice relaxing couple of days sampling the bars guest ales and walking on the moors.
Lovely rooms, great food evening meal and breakfast.
little cold in the rooms
Staff very friendly. Nice ales. Cosy bar area with real fire. Good location for exploring the moors. We were cycling and they stored our bikes in one of the locked rooms at the back of the property.
The location in a charming village, the warm welcome from the hosts, superb dinner and friendly atmosphere in the pub.
We had a lovely weekend with great food and a wonderful atmosphere with very pleasant and helpful staff.
Excellent food & real ale
Room could do with a bit of updating
They made us all feel very welcome and nothing was too much for them. Definitely stay there again.
Nice & welcoming people. Room was fine & nicely presented. Wifi was on the blink but fixed the next day. Great breakfast & great value for money.
Extremely friendly helpful staff. Clean and comfortable en-suite rooms...fantastic food at reasonable prices....the bar area is in need of a lick of paint and New curtains but I understand that the new owners and manager have this in hand...would recommend a visit!
great cosy pub serving good food and beers
we had to be away early morning but could not get any breakfasts as chef not available, a few cereals, etc could have been found.
Helpful staff. Quality breakfast. Comfortable room. Lovely village setting.
Nice country location, but don’t use this hotel, stay at a different Hotel, as this one has no duty of care to guests
I booked a twin room, but given a double which I didn’t fancy sharing with my sister, all they did was put an old fashioned camper bed in the room as it was now booked up. They agreed we had booked a twin, but they made a mistake and gave us a take it or leave it attitude. As I was going to a concert I was told there would be someone at the hotel until 12.30am, but when I got back at 12.02 the hotel was locked up and the phone number I was given in case there was a problem was for the hotel, but there wasn’t any staff on to answer it. I had no way to get back into my room other than to wake up the other guests. There should be a duty of care to guests, I would of thought it’s against health and safety not to have any staff on through the night, what if one of the guest had of been taken ill or there was a fire? There were only kitchen staff on in the morning so unable to report the incident, there wasn’t even anyone to book out with, you basically leave the key in your door and leave! The room itself was unclean and outdated, a large gap under the door, and damp on the wall. The bathroom had clearly not been cleaned as there was hair all over the sink. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, I don’t know how they can trade without a member of staff on the premises at all times, no care given to guests at all. I travel all over Europe and have stayed in a lot of hotels but this is the worst hotel i've ever stayed in.
Pleasant and Efficient Staff and Quality Food
Telephone [Fax] ringing continually for a few hours during the night and this interrupted our sleep.
Good food with plenty of choice. There were outside diners as well as residents but the Inn coped admirably with this.
There was evidence of staff shortage/lack of training of dining room staff at breakfast time.
The layout and finishes were excellent location was good as a base for the dales and moors. We found the food to both local and well cooked
The only problem we found was that the duvet was to small for the bed
The Inn is in a picturesque village and central for visiting north yorks. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food excellent! Room lovely and quaint.
Our friends unfortunately had the room at the front over the bar and they were kept awake until 0045 both nights by noisy people in the bar.
Very good food, room was good although a little small as was the bathroom Overall standard of cleanliness was excellent and the staff very helpful
Towels were very hard and quite abrasive due to the pattern
The room was comfortable, immaculate, good facilities, comfortable bed, all very pleasant. All staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed for two nights and had very good evening meals was breakfasts. I think it was all good value, I would thoroughly recommend the Inn and look forward to returning.
