Nothing special, apart from its location being near the hospital. My credit card was charged before my arrival and without my permission. Secondly, no staff in the hotel. All the communication was done via phone. Had I not brought a mobile phone, I might not be able to get in.

The rooms were clean, spacy and well furnished. The hotel had all necessary facilities for guests including a spacy parking place. The hotel is located in rather quiet area, well marked and there is good access to the city center.

The room was dry and fairly warm. Was told to use downstairs bathroom as upstairs was being remodelled but not offered the bathroom next to the bedroom which was in working order. Radio was broken TV was broken sink taps were not fixed to sink sink didn't drain properly breakfast was inadequate - small packet of cereal and carton of UHT milk. I do not eat cereals as I am lactose intolerant no teaspoon for tea making These are not complaints since it was meant to be a cheap night -just comments

It was comfortable enough On arrival, communication had to be conducted by phone as there was no answer when I rang the bell. Similarly when it came to check out I couldn't find anyone around and I had to phone, simply to be told that the card details would be used to settle the account

I am really not satisfied with this accomodation. We came there, nobody open our, after 5 minutes outside, open us some girl, who didn´t know about us anything. We had to call manager. We got room, but was dirty after latest tourist. There was dirty plate, cup with coffe, towel was use. We got another room. We booked double room with breakfast. There was only 1 plate, 1 cup, 2 small corn flakes ( I think for children, not for 2 adult people) nobody told us password for wi-fi. I think that they want a lot of money for nothing. And I think, that is possible to find in Cambridge more better accomodation than there.

Room was very clean and the staff we did encounter polite and helpful, a comfortable stay and not too far from amenities. The advert stated that a cooked breakfast would be available, but this was not the case. We were only offered cereal and toast which we helped ourselves to.

Nice stay as long as you aren't expecting any mod cons! We arrived late so were given the code and told key would be in door of room. The code did not work so we rang to ask and were told "this is the code - I don't see what is so difficult". We then went to our room where there was no key. Called again (as no one to greet) and our call was ignored. After 15 mins someone answered and was fairly rude before telling us to push very hard on the door as key was in room. "Continental breakfast" consisted of 3xcornflakes mini packs and 1xweetabix and long life milk plus 3 small cartons of orange. For our two night stay - these were not replenished on 2nd morning so b&b is a bit of an exaggeration. Ensuite with broken blind so full view out of the window ... and in, while showering.

The room was big, the bed was comfortable. Good location for my needs. Overall a good stay. The room was in desperate need of dusting, but had clean bedding so I could sleep without problems , just some sneezing. No staff present- they are only present 2 hours/ day apparently. I did not have a key to the room, i was told to just push the door open. It worked for me because I only stayed 1 night- but it wouldn't have been possible to leave your things in the room and go for a walk. Probably an easily solved problem but I didn't bother to call the staff.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Nobody was present to open the door. We had to wait a long time and call multiple times to a phone number before someone would finally pick up and help us.

Quiet neighbourhood, but nothing else - see below This house is more like a hostel than anything else, which was not made clear in the info. on your web-site. I knew there would be self-check-in, but it was also self-service, as I didn't see a member of staff the whole time I was there. There was no breakfast served, merely a carton of milk and 2 packets of cereal in the bedroom. Also, mysteriously, 3 small containers of marmalade but no clue as to where the bread and butter were! There was a large kitchen which appeared to be used for other guests for self-catering, but no inkling of what was for me, and no-one to ask. No towels in the room - I had to phone the voice on the phone to be told I had to go and get one from the kitchen. Rooms very basic, whole building bit "tatty" eg ill-fitting doors, spartan decorations, no information for guests anywhere. This is not bed and breakfast as I know it, even for £38.00 per night. Cereal on its own is not breakfast!

I liked the fact that you could get in and out the main doors with a pin code and had 24 hour access , I also liked that there was a kitchen area with a fridge and microwave that you could use. The Mowbray was very messy, and although our room was clean the bathrooms were filthy. There was a curtain tied in the middle of the bathroom window and clear glass, so if you had a shower (which I just couldnt bring myself to do), you would be seen from outside. The staff spoke very poor English and did not greet us warmly, simply handed us the key and left. we had no idea what we could or couldnt use in the kitchen area, and the beds were very uncomfortable and creaky. One of the metal bits of our bedroom window was broken so it wouldnt shut fully, and even though we could pull it and lock it, it wasnt actually shut and had a 2cm gap, we did not feel it was a safe and clean enviroment. The continental breakfast is weetabix, UHT milk, and teabags/coffee, and marmalade. - no bread. Bread IS in the kitchen (value!) but you have no idea if you are permitted to use it. Don't go here for the sake of savings £20-£30...it simply isnt worth it.

As we arrived after 2pm there were no staff at the Hotel but as we had phoned ahead all had been explained to us and we were able to access our rooms easily - hence no comment re staff. A good sensibly priced, clean, tidy establishment with all you could need for a short break in the City of Cambridge. Parking on site was a bonus so we were able to access the near by Park and Ride. Would be a bit of a trek to nearest Public Transport if you didn't have a car.

“We were very impressed with the University Arms. It was centrally located so ideal for shopping and for eating and drinking. We booked early and got a good deal. The parking below the hotel was ideal as we had a lot of gear with our baby. We would love to come back and make the most of the bars in the hotel.” Robert, Stowlangtoft |
