Lovely size room, great situation next to the river
Selection of Real Ales. Comfortable snug area in the bar.
Rather awkward car-parking routine - involves the use of the near-by Dog Lane public car park and a laminated display pass.
Location, great real ale, food. Staff were excellent and very friendly.
Bed ok, mattress not to my liking. Heating system a bit noisy.
Food, location, bar, room everything really
Had to fight to get to the bar lots of people well really not a complaint
Rooms amazing and friendly staff made the stay perfect
Nothing everything was perfect
The mug house was great. Friendly staff, the breakfast was amazing. No noise to be heard at night and great views. room cosy
A really good location with pleasant staff good service and an excellent breakfast.lotz of tea and coffee in room and fridge with real milk in. Easy acces to the town and for walks along the river.
View of river from bedroom window Angry Chef Restaurant - excellent meal
Ventilation of room (sash) was all or nothing - a small point
Stayed with my teenage daughter on our way to her university interview. Lovely, warm, comfortable room with everything one might need including iron and ironing board.Spacious shower room.Excellent three course dinner in the restaurant; delicious home made ice cream and very solicitous waitress. Breakfast was the best hotel full English I have had in a long time. Delicious strong coffee Made to feel welcome and would definitely return. Excellent value.
My pet hate is wrapped butter pats but that was a VERY minor niggle and easily made up for by the experience as a whole. Some people may find the river noise and pub deliveries noisy but did not upset us.
Cosy and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful food.
I booked this for my brother who seemed pleased with his stay.
next to the river. close to town centre. great breakfast. excellent bedroom. good beer in pub.
Not very much to dislike as it was everything we wanted for an overnight stay.
position and staff great breakfast and choice too !
beds pushed together/split matress
Good location Room was lovely with a river view Would definetley stay again. The manager of the hotel is very friendly and a credit to the place
Location Good breakfasts Friendly staff Good bar
CIDER & BREAKFAST EXCELLENT
SHAME YOU HAVE TO USE PUBLIC CAR PARK.
The room was excellent. Quirky and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff.
The evening meal was slightly disappointing for the money and there was a long delay for breakfast.
Friendly/Helpful staff Cleanliness of the rooms The view over the river
Warm welcome invite. polite staff. excellent location. Will definitely stay again.
Steep stairs if you stay in room 3.
Everything was great for me. Went to visit family. Loved having a room away from the pub. Room was great
Breakfast is amazing
Having stayed here twice this stay was a contrast to the exceptional room and comfort of the previous visit. The side room is too noisy, I was awoken several times by passers by or the ducks !!
Superb stay fantastic friendly staff Angry Chef restaurant serves amazing food all cooked by not an angry chef but a very pleasant young man & his staff. Have been here before and will return again next year. A most enjoyable relaxing stay
Old Inn right on the river
Everything about the place
Relaxed riverside location, very good breakfast which included fresh fruit salad, excellent croissant, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, kippers and all the other usual choices especially delicious local sausages.
Badly laid out refurbished large bedroom. Furniture badly arranged so wardrobe and side cabinet with fridge in it could not be opened easily due to chests at the end of the bed, despite ample space for alternatives. Bathroom spacious but lacking shelves and shower gel dispensers mounted so shoulders banged on them (could have been located on the bath end wall adjacent to the shower head rail). Both gel dispensers virtually empty on arrival and not replenished when room was made up. Peroni £4.80 per pint.
