Staff were all helpful and friendly. Liked the pub with its log fire and range of real ales - a lively atmosphere. The bedroom was however far enough from (above) the bar so that it was quiet - nice views of the river. Breakfast was outstanding - good, fresh ingredients properly cooked : try the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs!

I liked the breakfast and shower. The bed was comfortable too. There was a lot of noise from the fridge and tv system. I had to turn the electricity socket off so as I could fall asleep and switch it back on in the morning.

This is a super friendly public house and restaurant with accommodation above and in the house beside, spotlessly clean. The pub and its high quality restaurant was used by locals who along with the staff were very welcoming. Although busy all evening, noise did not penetrate to the room, We have stayed before and look forward to our next visit

Excellant breakfast using good quality local produce, I rate most places on the quality or not of thier breakfasts, its an indicater of the standards that they are prepared to go to. Its easy to skimp on this area, as it can normally be the last time that they see you before you depart, get this right and I will go back again. The setting is wonderfull, the staff very helpfull, I shall return. Parking

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was delightful. The purple care bear in the room It would be helpful to be told prior to arrival that a £10.00 deposit (refundable )is required for the parking in a local public carpark

Very friendly and helpful staff, I needed to check in late and this was absolutely no problem. The parking was very convenient and free, using their voucher and my room was absolutely delightful. It had a wonderful view, right on the riverside, was full of character and very clean. The room was also very quiet, having it's own private entrance.I Certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.Thank you.

We found the Mug House Inn to be a charming place to stay with so much old fashion charm with many of its original features The room was clean and well presented with a very comfortable bed The staff were very polite and cheerful and the food was excelent add to this the location and the nearby Safari Park which was a lovely day trip. I would certainly reccomend this hotel to anyone and we hope to return in the New Year. There was nothing to dislike about our stay except that it was to short and we wish we could have stayed much longer.

The location was excellent, right on the river quay, with lovely walks along the river in both directions. A few steps from the historic town center with shops bars and resteraunts also a very good farm shop. The pub's resteraunt which if I remember correctly was called the Angry Chef, served a good selection of dishes including a set menu I had a steak and it was first class. The breakfast was also very good, a cold selection including fruit and yougurt served in small kilner jars my husband had the salmon and scrambled eggs which was also very good. The room was large and the bathroom very large with everything you could wish for a comfortable break. I would recommend this to anyone. One thing I didn't like was of no fault of the pub. The pub being so old but I did need to park the car a little distants away, approx 100yds. It was not a great distance and the pub supplied us with a pass, which saved us paying for parking.

Good breakfast - good staff- interesting location. This place is one of a kind. You need a little planning to sort out the car parking - but it is no problem really. Need to watch the temperature of the shower.

Our room (The Daffidil Room) on the first floor and the most expensive at around £40 pppn did have a lovely view over the river and the adjacent Rowing Club and was comfortable if a little dated in decor and fittings. The ensuite bathroom was a good size. The Pub was also well situated for both the small town and the Severn Valley Railway.Be prepared for limited eating outlets (except pubs) in the town. The self service make your own tea toast etc breakfast was a little unexpected and in a full dining room would be chaotic but the served cooked breakfast was excellent. If you remember this is a Pub with a few rooms not a Hotel and operates as such then you will not be dissapointed....do not expect Hotel facilities or systems (surely the so called Residents Lounge could be made more like a Lounge and less like the souless area with a few tables and chairs set in a first floor corridor) Overall a well run Pub but as an Hotel bearing in mind you are paying "hotel" prices not so impressed but I suspect with the lack of comparitive competion in the Town it will continue to be busy in its present form.

The riverside location makes it feel special. The staff are great as is the ale. The rooms are lovely, if a little quirky. Breakfast is good and the atmosphere friendly. Best place to stop for the west midlands if you don't mind a few extra miles. I prefer feather pillows.

The room was lovely and the breakfast superb. We were a bit concerned re noise since a few others had commented but there really wasn't a problem - it was all quiet but about 11.30 and we were in a room over the bar, overlooking the river and with all the windows open because of the heat. We'll stay again for sure.

Really nice, olde world pub/hotel. Great breakfasts! Real ales and proper pub atmosphere. Lovely riverside location. No on site car parking but can use a nearby public car park at no cost if a permit is obtained from the hotel

“Very relaxed but great attention to detail - i.e. decanter of sherry in room plus fresh milk in jug of hot drinks. Lovely restaurant with gourmet food. this hotel is set away from the road to Bridgenorth, but is well worth finding. Very fairly priced - thank you Old Vicarage.” Gillian, Oxted |
