This hotel dates from the Tudor period, but the inside reflects the very best in modern design. It featured in the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral, as well as the TV show Midsomer Murders.

Nice pub with good food.
The room was a little small!
accommation ,food ,service ,staff . All in all a great experience . Thankyou .
Relaxed, pleasant staff, good food
Small room Disappointing breakfast Limited TV stations
Friendliness of staff Beautiful building
A bit expensive
Beautiful English countryside setting and the food (particularly the breakfast) was really good. The rooms are comfortable and have been sympathetically renovated in keeping with the old coaching house style.
Room lovely, old world charm with modern conveniences. Friendly helpful staff.
Occasional road noise from traffic but not as intrudive as expected from previous review
The food was amazing! We had dinner and breakfast and both were some of the best we've had. The service was great, the room was clean and renovated, and the hotel had lots of its 15th century character still. This was such a great place!
WiFi signal was weak
Lively staff. Building. Location. Menu.
There was nothing terribly wrong. But with a some attention to detail around the fit and finish of fixtures and fittings, presentation of the food and things like not running out of marmalade at breakfast, the Nags Head could be really memorable for all the right reasons.
Quirky. Lots of stairs and low beams. Excellent restaurant
Poor lighting in room - these low output EU bulbs! The only way to read was to get the book right underneath the bedside lamp, the main lights were too dim.
The staff was very friendly and we liked this old house that was really nicely renovated and furnished.
The booking coordinates did note take us exactly to the Nag's Head. However, we found the hotel after we he turned around a corner a few hundred meters further on.
Excellent food and very pleasant staff...came down for a wedding at Missenden Abbey and knew that the accommodation would be better...friends have confirmed that we were right
For our purposes it was just right but walking from the Abbey in pitch darkness after the celebrations was treacherous...not the fault of the Nags head
Bedrooms, public spaces were lovely, breakfast was delicious, as was dinner.
the aircon system outside was VERY noisy and the school run traffic was constant from early morning.
The staff were welcoming and friendly. The garden at the rear was pretty and lovely for early dining or pre-dinner drinks and the food was exceptionally good.
Some of the chairs are extremely hard for an evenings dining! The pub is right on the road and because there is no air con in the rooms and it was very hot, windows had to be left open. The traffic noise was intense and earplugs and eyeshades are essential. No good evening walks nearby.
Excellent food, especially breakfast, warm welcome. Very quaint room although at 6'2" the 5" tall doors needed care to avoid.
Room was around 35-40 degrees when I arrived. No A/C so I had to open the windows to cool it down which led to traffic noise. Not complaining about the warm weather but maybe a portable fan could be made available. I guess this is not typically a problem, but made the stay less comfortable. I was on business but the table for my laptop was pretty small, not a big gripe but the hotel/pub is probably better suited to the leisure traveller. Bar process were expensive even for London.
As we was working away we gound it all good. And i would come again with my wife as s short breack .
Really pleasant surroundings. This made for a relaxing stay.
It was a very hot night. A fan in the room may have helped.
The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was of excellent quality and the bedroom was very comfortable which all made for a very enjoyable stay.
The staff at the Nags Head were all very nice especially the girl on breakfast who made sure everything was perfect The bar was well stocked with plenty of choice spirits, beer, wine and cider
Traffic noise in room 5
Staff were good
Bathroom facilities were terrible, shower and toilet did not work properly. The property was extremely noisy, terrible value for money. We should have stayed at the Red Lion in Little Missenden
Helpful staff. Good quality breakfast. Clean and comfortable room.
£100 per night is steep for what is a just a country inn. There's no lounge for guests just the bar for example. £75 per night would not be unreasonable for this type of accommodation.
Location and room
Great Accomodation, Food and excellent for stopover
Compact shower room. Shoulders touched both side walls when in toilet area! (Room 6).
good staff, good food nice room
room was at the front of the pub and was quite noisy from the traffic
