The location is great and the ladies at the reception are very friendly and helpful Cleaning staff is useless. In eight days no cleaning of carpets. Some days no cleaning at all.

My room was on the first floor overlooking the road outside the hotel. The hotel had a wedding party and many guests were shouting, singing and screaming outside until past 1am. This was not a weekend day either - it was a Tuesday night and I was staying on business. The windows in the room didn't mask any of the sound. Told the staff the next day and got an apology but quite frankly I was pretty annoyed that we had to pay for a room where I didn't get a good night's sleep AT ALL as I couldn't sleep until 2am. Wouldn't recommend.

The hotel is placed in a historical building with a million-dollar view on the ancient Mary de Crypt church. The staff is very nice and friendly, the room is clean. The staff is very nice and friendly Sometimes the cleaning is not done perfectly. The view on the street comes with obvious dusturbance from the bar on the ground floor of the same building and outside noises.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Central location and warm. Single room was a little isolated and on the top floor which exacerbated this feeling. I was moved to the first floor but it was still a little isolated. Someone tried to get into my room, obviously a mistake, but when I rang reception there was no answer, only an answering machine. I had to tell the person at the door that I would ring the police if he didnt go away. This worked, luckily for me,but it only added to my sense of insecurity. I had thought I would stay an extra day there,as I could not travel on to Hereford because of the weather, but I checked out the next morning and went to Bristol instead.

The hotel was perfectly situated for visiting the City of Gloucester, and was within walking distance of many attractions and the station. The desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was large enough and roomy, and the ensuite facilities were good. Our particular room was quite noisey. We had an extractor fan right outside our room which was gennerally going all the time. The bed was also slightly uncomfortable with springs easily felt.

The staff were extremely helpful I was travelling alone so only booked a single room which understandably is possibly not the best of rooms ... There was wedding going on and much noise and frivolity (as would be expected) going on in the room next door by 9 I figured that this could possibly go on all night and I had a course the following day so asked if I could be moved ... Which was no trouble .... The food was delicious I had room service twice as not brave enough to venture to the bar alone ! Only downside was the toilet was not sparkly which you probably wouldn't notice unless you were sitting in the bath (room 14) but the under he rim and the pedestal were requiring a once over ... and the view wasn't great but then I think that's fair do for a single room I wasn't in it apart from the evenings .... Oh see above

Very good staff. The location right by where I was going in Gloucester Quays. The exposed parking in an ncb car park. The breakfast at £9.95 for a slice of toast. The management was helpful and waved the standard charge when I twitted them, so alls well.

central position as I was there to visit the Cathedral. Good to have a single room, cosier than a double on your own. lack of soap in the room and faulty kettle. At breakfast the need to ask for a cereal spoon and look for a second knife.

Great location. Lovely staff. I have stayed here a few times and always seem to get old saggy mattresses. They need a mass mattress upgrade!

Room was clean and comfortable. Food was very good and competitively priced. Staff were both friendly and helpfull. I have know been to this hotel twice and it is my hotel of choice when in Gloucester. Maybe the heating in some of the public areas could be turned down a couple of degrees.

Staff superb. Friendly and helpful from receptionist Carly to Hailey in the restaurant. Ate in on Friday we arrived and was very impressed. Quality meal at very reasonable price. Breakfast was extremely good from full English to the outstanding Eggs Royale. First class location 5 minutes from both Cathedral and Docks. Right in the City. Would happily recommend staying here. Read about noise late at night from the revellers outside and whereas there was some in the early hours, it wasn't too intrusive and we were staying in room 1 at the front. Well done to the New County, good weekend break. The room decor looked a bit tired. Also it could do we rearranging. There was no mirror for my wife even though there was a dressing table/desk. Also the only plug was on the opposite wall next to the wardrobe. Why not swap the two over an fit a mirror over the table/desk? Other than that, nothing wrong.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice, very clean and modern. The hotel is in a great location and ideal for our weekend to visit Kingsholm to watch the rugby. Excellent value for money and would stay again. Our room was located at the front of the hotel and was very noisy, when it was kicking out time at the pubs.

Great location and friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Parking charges in the carpark next to the hotel were expensive but if you get a card from the hotel you can get reduced rates - wish we'd know that before we bought the original ticket!
