Amazing shower and bath.
The beds, rooms and overall decor are great. Quality robes and fab showers are part of a series of nice finishing touches. The bar area is fantastic and a little haven in central Leeds with all the gin you could wish to drink!
Room is well furnished. Hotel is close enough to walk into leeds. Staff are friendly and polite.
The suite was nice and the location was quiet
The restaurant was poor: We weren't allowed to move our booking back half an hour, however the restaurant was less than half full all evening. The waiting staff had no knowledge about the menu even though it was a set menu for valentines with only 4 options for each course. When asked where the local oysters were from, the waiter didn't find out until dessert! The pigeon breast was tough and the bacon lardons were rubbery and under cooked, The waiter who brought a tray of bright pink drinks for all tables didn't even know what was in it! The duck skin was pale and not crispy and the duck breast was overcooked not pink. The wrong dessert was brought out. When we complained we got 3 statements from the Manager which are a complete no no in my book: 1. "We used to be 2 rosettes, now we are 1 rosette, so if you were expecting fine dining then you were mistaken". 2. "With all due respect, no-one else in the (half empty) restaurant has complained" 3. " Well I tasted your duck and thought it was fine" Don't think this restaurant takes on feedback very well - which is probably why it lost a rosette in the first place. Avoid!
Spacious boutique rooms with comfortable beds.
The atmospheric decoration of this small hotel and the excellent design of the room .
Quiet, comfortable town house hotel, conveniently located close to Leeds station and city centre restaurants etc. excellent, well priced room service menu.
Bathroom facilities not up to the standard of my suite. Limited wardrobe space.
the room was very shabby , decor was cheap and nasty stains all over the ceiling where there had been a leek , stains on the walls , grubby carpet . Breakfast not worth £15.95 .
Rooms and lounge area were wonderful and it was a very pleasurable stay
Comfortable beds Quiet street (usually)
Building work opposite the hotel can be a bit noisy at times
Really enjoyed my stay, friendly staff, nice design to the hotel, great room, clean. We had some bar food and cocktails when we arrived around 4pm which was great too.
No wifi, staff not bothered that it didn't work, £35 extra for breakfast, no parking
Cocktail bar and barman was exceptional he was joy to watch. Great beds warm welcome.
Breakfast service was slow and had to keep reminding waiter of essentials marmalade, milk, butter etc
The Recpetionist - Alison - she was so genuine and receptive to the fact that we were staying under very difficult family circumstances and could not have been more helpful! An absolute asset to the hotel and so genuine! Brilliant member of the team.
The gents serving in the Gin Garden weren't the most efficient. We had to wait over 20 minutes for two gin and tonics and had to tell them twice what we wanted. They were young and clearly didn't worry too much about customer service. This is the first time I've experienced poor standards in this hotel - a shame as it's such a great place. Management needs to buck their ideas up and get on top of this. It wouldn't stop me returning but I'm sure it would for others.
Friendly staff, good facilities
Parking - not great around it. Lots of building works too (but no affecting our sleep)
All staff were polite and friendly and also very helpful. The room itself was outstanding, very clean and well maintained. Me and my partner were more than happy with this hotel, the layout is very modern and finely decorated. Cannot wait to return here and possibly for longer on our next stay.
Wi Fi did not work
Fantastic hotel . Room excellent everything you need . Very comfortable and luxurious . Definitely be returning . Well done Ellington .
Liked the hotel rooms, nicely decorated and clean and liked the extras you get, great late check out!! Recommended.
A slightly softer mattress and softer dressing gowns would have been great but other than that no complaints.
The room was beautifully decorated, the bed was comfortable and the bath was a generous size with really nice toiletries
There was no water in the mini bar which was unusual as the bar was providing filtered bottles of it for free. Such a small thing that would have made a huge difference. The pillows were very soft and my request for another firmer one wasn't met, nor did anyone acknowledge it when one didn't arrive in my room as promised. There was no pen in the room to fill in the survey and no information about the hotel or restaurant menu. Add water, the option of firmer pillows and some better info in the room and our stay would have been perfect.
Great location for a night out in Leeds city centre and for Leeds Arena. Quiet area and only a short walk from the railway station.
Re room service. Only one coffee capsule and only decaf tea sachets provided. We asked for additional supplies but none were forthcoming. The price for breakfast seemed a bit steep so we opted out - but for that price it was probably great if you were a big eater.
Hospitality and friendlines of most staff especially reception and restaurant
One receptionist who found paperwork more important than seeing you to the customer
Fabulous location, nice and quiet. Beautiful bespoke fittings
Miserable kitchen waiter who made me feel like I shouldn't have been there.someone should inform him to at least smile .....it's not hard! Plus an English breakfast with no toast - that's just not English!!
Everything. Location was superb 5 mins from station yet a very quiet safe street. Luxurious feel to the room, top quality all round. Outstanding breakfast half price when taken up with the great welcome call made soon after booking.
There were sliding internal shutters rather than curtains which are quite smart but did let some light in so the room wasn't as dark as I would have liked.
Big comfy bed.
