Staff were friendly hy
Hotel was very very cheaply furnished bed and bed were really poor quality as were the pillows, the floor boards outside our room were so noisy whenever any body walked down the hallway, it sounded like they were in the room. The carpet on the stairs was filthy, the food was in my opinion pretty tasteless, service for drinks was amazingly slow in restaurant, but worst of all was when we got up after our meal, we adjourned to the bar as the chap on the guitar was a bit too much, as guests not an issue, but we were literally chased from the restaurant as the staff thought we were doing a runner!!! My wife and I thought it was strange when we were asked to pay for the room as soon as we arrived and the sign behind the member of staff noted Photo ID was mandatory when checking in more like a 2 star but only just
Staff tried their best to help
Heating was broken - very cold. Breakfast didn't start until 7:30am - no flexibility. Kitchen closed too early for me in the evening
Breakfast was nice
Night time menu is wrong Found items under bed Bathroom not dusted for a while. Veg filet was not cooked, churros were old and re cooked. Shame being past few time won't be going back. Are you French or Spanish?
My evening meal was lovely. Tasty and well cooked.
The carpet was stained and required a hoover. The mattress on the bed was not comfortable at all which is a shame because the attic room was lovely and quaint
Restaurant is good. Staff were friendly and courteous but clearly untrained.
The noise of the adjacent road. For a relatively small amount to install secondary glazing an awful lot of the noise could be eliminated. The partitions between rooms (these were not walls!!) were so poorly constructed (no sound insulation) that we could hear everything that our neighbours did and said!! Really could do with a lounge.
Good value meal
Breakfast was not up to a average bed and breakfast
Nice rooms, comfy and clean.
Staff not interested and had no drive or determination to help themselves or the guests.
Our party arrived early evening to be greeted warmly by the member of staff, as previously said on another review we had to pay on arrival which is unusual but not a problem, the bedrooms we occupied, 3 in total, one which was a family room, with two bedrooms, they all were absolutely fantastic, very big, warm and very clean, everything you would need for a relaxing winters evening rest. We would definitely use this hotel again and would recommend it.
Breakfast was pre-ordered the evening we came in, we booked it for 9am and it was ready for us when we went into the dining area, the full English was quite basic, and there was only two choices of cereal, tea and coffee was supplied on the table to help ourselves, we had plenty of toast to fill us up,so really all in all our one night stay at the hotel was very pleasant indeed.
The quality surroundings, good food and service.
The bed mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Out of keeping with the excellent room. Heavily creaking floorboards and volumes of gushing water at 2.00 a.m. from an adjacent room.
beautiful property, lots of character and original features.
I liked the easy check-in, pleasant staff, room size was excellent. Breakfast was very good and it was a very easy drive to Newport Pagnell in the morning from the hotel location.
En-suite, I would have preferred a shower to a bath with no shower head, plugs were not located near any mirrors making hair drying a little difficult. Internet access was quite slow.
Very nice room with comfy bed . Quiet and warm
You have to pay £3 extra to have potatoes with your main course and they have a 12.5% service charge added to your meal ! However the food was very good
Think to describe this hotel as boutique and fine dining is stretching the point. It was clean and the staff tried hard although they were young and inexperienced. Antibacterial handwash is not what I would expect from 'boutique'.
Our stay at the French Partridge was excellant. The staff helpful, surroundings charming and the food superb. We have eaten at the FP before when staying with family and this remains our favourite restaurant. The menus are imaginative and the food is well presented and delicious. Will stay again.
Very conscientious management and good attention to detail Food well above average A nice quiet retreat in the country with a very pleasant environment and character
The location and the style of the hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly. Good breakfast.
The hot drinks at breakfast time were cold.
Beautiful bedrooms, love the roll top bath. Good tasty food.
ate in the restaurant, although food was good it was a bit pricey.
Character of hotel. Room was generous. Great food.
Staff very keen to be helpful. Decor. Food very good.
Pair of stockings behind chair! And biscuit wrappers behind desk. Wonder what the cleaner does?
Overwhelming smell of damp and mould in the room Raw sewage smell on the stairs Extremely rude and uninterested reception staff A broken shower
Old building and country location. Plenty of space in the rooms and nicely furnished.
Kitchen noise underneath us with a very loud ventilation fan which could annoy people looking for a quiet time. Was turned off on request.
A lovely old building - at first glance it looks quite luxurious
Staff were useless, very poor customer service - e.g "your room is at the top of the stairs" "you've got to pay now" (as soon as you walk in the door!). Room decor was tired and the carpets were filthy. Food was very disappointing - both the salmon and venison were dry and had obviously been frozen.
Comfortable room, spacious, en-suite included a bath
Shower head kept falling down mid shower. Poor breakfast. 3* meal at 5* prices...
