Nothing significant No internet access - but this could be considered an advantage !!

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean ,warm and well appointed. The food in the restaurant was very good and priced reasonable. Good beer in the bar and good entertainment on the Saturday night.

The location is excellent and the hotel facilties with a couple of exceptions were very good, the staff were generally welcoming and helpful.

The room tariff, which was expensive - we actually paid extra due to booking through booking.com. Also the size of the rooms. We booked what was called a "Superior" room, which whilst well equipped and decorated was tiny, plus half the room was restricted by a sloping roof. For the price we paid I expected a little more useable space.

Fantastic situation. Park the car and leave it for the weekend. Fab walks on your doorstep.

Not a lot of variety on the restaurant menu although plenty of choice if you opt for bar meal.

Beautiful setting, the view from our window right onto the hills was gorgeous. Very helpful staff. We had booked a double room, and when we arrived had been put in a single room. Before we could even mention it to the staff they were sorting bedding etc to make it into a double for us. Breakfast was delicious. When we stayed there was a big group staying, but there was no bother from noise or anything as we had the furthest room from the bar. Very impressed by this place.

The only thing I wasn't so keen on was that we had to leave our key at reception every time we left the hotel and sometimes took a while to get someones attention to get it back as they were pretty busy.

Deco was in need of update and bedroom walls were thin

The fire were well stoked first thing in the morning. Cosy rooms with fabulous views from the windows. Dog friendly. Welcoming and relaxing.

The room was great - super to have a bath and views from the window. Really liked the informal yet profressional approach by staff. The snug / sitting room was very cosy. The breakfast was lovely.

We happened to be there when refurbishment which was no major problem, but we look forward to returning to see the finished product!

Well looked after by all the staff over the new year period. Good organisation and events for new year. We had a great time.

Unpretentious, generous room, good facilities, great views, comfortable, welcoming.

Location is good. Food and drink ok but a little pricy, but that's down to the location. Staff very friendly. Good shower!

Our room was a bit noisy when the kitchen was in operation (banging doors). Car parking is a bit tight.

The staff where very friendly and approachabe. The hotel was lovely and warm with a log fire in the lounge as the weather was cold outside. The breakfast was really good and we ate in the hotel restaurant and the bar. The restaurant served food to a high standard and the bar meals we would recommend. All in all we enjoyed our stay and we have recommended the hotel to friends and we hope to return again sometime soon.

Quality of room and towels and friendlimness of staff

Dinner was not as good as it should have been. The tablespoon of pasta that was provided was not freshly cooked but glutenous and cold. Meal was sent back and returned hotter.

The location in such a beautiful part of the Lake District. We like the fact that you don't have to drive anywhere once the car is parked, you can start various walks direct from the hotel. Breakfast and bar meal was lovely and staff friendly.

Everything was fine, no complaints.
