No mobile signal and poor wifi signal .. breakfast options are limited . But food is good.
Friendly staff Been before to eat at restaurant but unfortunately did not have time this weekend
Felt the bed was to soft and the matress needed replacing as it felt as springs coming through
We stayed here for the first time in December 2014. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. We had a dinner in the restaurant; which was lovely. The menu is basic but done well, the food was hot and the portion sizes were decent. The staff were fantastic when my wife lost her engagement ring. They helped search for it everywhere! Luckily we got a call a few hours after arriving home to say they had found it!!
Good room, great restaurant meal. Good service.
Shower controls difficult to operate. No electrical shaver point in bathroom.
Clean, great location for wedding we were attending, lovely food in country pub.
Bed was very hard.
Good Breakfast. Nice Hotel will use again
Atmosphere, pub, small size of hotel, plenty of parking, quiet location
Wifi was a little patchy in the room.
The staff were very efficient. The food was acceptable but nothing special. A typical pub meal
THe food was very good indeed
Wi fi was very intermittent and quite slow
Rooms were spacious and quiet despite the property's location quite near the road.
Good food and drinks Good waiting staff Main bedroom area nice Good size tv
Stayed in ' luxury suite ', bathroom could do with updating, cracked tiles, cold bath tap worked back to front, silicone around bath coming away, cracked floor tiles. Be aware of staff trying to charge a 10% surcharge for large bookings in restaurant when it's not mentioned at time of booking or on website
location and building, quaint Jazz night (1st Thu of month)
no mobile signal .. quite a disaster! , niggles in room: door handle/lock 'rickety', sink semi-blocked drain, bathroom fan noise ..etc. , staff OK but not exactly wild about us (the customer)!
This was our first time here at the New Inn. Booked on the Friday for the Saturday evening. Staffs were extremely helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, it was very busy when we were there but the service we received was very good and the food was of top quality, (highly recommend the Stake and Kidney pudding). The room we had, had a four poster bed (very comfortable) and the room was very spacious. We both had full English for breakfast but there is a good choice on the breakfast menu. Would recommend the new inn and I’m sure this won’t be our last stay.
our stay was to short.
Excellent evening meal, good choice on menu. Staff first class
Friendly staff. Quiet location. Good breakfast. Good value. Close to Reading for London connections.
We had evening meal there and, to be honest, it was a bit ordinary and lacking in something.
Breakfast was horrible, under cooked and not eatable
Nice location , semi rural but close to Reading & Basingstoke. Very friendly staff , excellent dinner, well presented. Breakfast average.
the setting, it was close to the wedding reception, we were at. the facilities were excellent, and the staff were helpful and polite. the breakfast most welcome.
Food was good, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff
friendly staff, good food choices of cider
it was all good
The staff The food The atmosphere real wood furniture Proper home cooking
black mold in bath banging doors in corridor whilst trying sleep mattress springs clunky when you moved.
Spacious room, ideally located for visiting our friends in Hound Green. Excellent parking facilities, pleasant surroundings. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was good. Breakfast was included - good selection of cereals and choice of hot foods. The bacon and poached eggs were good.
Scrambled eggs were terrible. Bathroom had a shower curtain rather than a screen and the shower was in the bath rather than being a separate cubicle. Curtain rail needed attention which we reported on check out.
Comfy bed, good food, beers, wines, friendly staff. Only a half-hour walk to where I needed to be.
£80/night is quite expensive for a two-star hotel. Place was also advertised as having toiletries in the rooms. It does NOT -- unless you count a soap dispenser. You DO need to bring your own hair shampoo, toothpaste etc.
1.Parking allways available 2.Old Pub
1. Place is at a noisy road 2. Very noisy annoying door to the corridor (1st floor) 3. Room door easy burgle (not safe)
