“ Very friendly staff, good facilities in room, beautiful views. The heating in the room had been switched on in advance so it was nice and cosy. Breakfast was very good and there was also an excellent sea view from the dining room. ”

- Lovely friendly feel - Friendly, helpful staff - Keeps you fit if you walk the hill to Lynton every day (take a torch if walking at night as limited lighting) - On the path of some lovely walks -Beautiful views from the bedroom -Lovely breakfast everyday -Nice to have the option of a lounge and bar and restaurant in the hotel (although we didn't use it) - Would be nice to have some info about the restaurant in the hotel in the room so we knew when breakfast was, and what nights there was the dinner option etc (but this is a very small and really not negative comment!)

Friendly helpful staff. Views. Dog friendly. Nice breakfast. Proximity to Valley of the Rocks. Nothing much to dislike. Would have preferred a bath as opposed to shower and extractor fan had a fault making it noisy. Bed and pillows could have been better.

The staff were really very helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable The Breakfast was fantastic! The temperature on the shower was VERY difficult to control - this was a very minor inconvenience and did not in anyway spoil our opinion of the North Cliff Hotel

The location is superb. The hotel sits high on a cliff overlooking Lynmouth bay. Five minutes walk from the hotel is the centre of Lynton or access to the cliff railway for the ride down to Lynmouth. The North Cliff has the ambience of a traditional country hotel. The room was comfortable and clean and had delightful views across Lynmouth.

The room we were allocated afforded fantastic views towards Lynmouth, the Lyn Valley and across the Bristol Channel. Food was acceptable. I found the owner quite cold, not very hospitable or interested in her guests (as we have found in other establishments) and rarely seen throughout our stay. No proper welcome or explanation of the services available. We were handed our room key and told the stairs were around the corner with no offer to take our cases up until I was halfway up the stairs and this came from someone working in the hotel that day. The guest information folder indicated evening meals were available on request - only on Tuesday evening during our stay with no explanation as to why not on the other evenings. The advertised drying room was what seemed to be a storage room with clothes hangers and a heater! On departure we received our bill without the usual enquiry as to whether we'd enjoyed our stay!
