Found the hotel with ease. Parking tight but ample. Views of the bay awsome to wake up to. Staff friedngly and helpful. All in all an excellant short last minute break. Will definately return for another stay .
Very clean an very well prepared, a room with the most spectacular view we ever had!
The view was stunning, the breakfast was nice apart from tinned fruit mixed in with fresh fruit salad. The rooms were clean, bedding was clean
The bathroom was very smelly. Fousty, damp smell and too small. So much so that if you are not careful you can burn yourself on the towel rail, although there is a notice to say as much. The door only just opens past the toilet with a fraction of an inch. Tricky gateway getting into car park which only holds about 6 cars comfortably.
Excellent location Very clean and comfortable Great view...even better from the bathroom
Owner not very friendly/forthcoming on our arrival re things to do in the area etc. Maps had sold out and not replaced. Room a bit dated but I think they are in the process of doing up rooms.
Tremendous views, good breakfast, well located for walking into Lynton & Lynmouth and to the Valley of the Rocks. Handily placed for the cliff railway.
Only one minor point is that taps need updating!
Great location, right in the center of the park, staff is lovely, good breakfast. Wonderful views from the room.
everything was just perfect
with a hotel of this quality plus a view to die for, what's not to like?
Views, privacy, quiet, dog friendly
Weak shower, stairs we were up the top,
Location. Staff. Bed.
Nearly 50 stairs to bed after a tiring day shopping/sight seeing
Views over bay
A bit run-down, rooms definitely need a face-lift Breakfast standard to poor quality ingredients Over-priced, at almost £100 per night, I suspect one can do much better.
Beautiful view, location, staff in general, and especially the manager "Kate", who was always there to help. Free parking, easy and walkable access to everywhere in both Lynton and Lynmouth. Breakfast was perfect.
Wifi was not working, also there was no mobile signal over there ( from different networks including O2, Virgin, and T mobile); though that was the case, almost everywhere in Lynton and Lynmouth (no mobile signal, and no 3G!). So, if Kate could manage to boost its Wifi connection, that would be some sort of relief.
view from the room stunning view from breakfast room comfort of beds staff welcoming and friendly breakfast was wonderful walking distance to Valley of the Rocks which is breath taking dog friendly
rooms a tad dated but clean and comfortable but the views and location of the hotel was stunning so it didn't matter
fantastic views, very good breakfast, friendly welcome
more should be made of the terrace re seating and tables.
The location and view
shower was a bit tricky to work
Friendly helpful staff
No evening meal available at hotel, however plenty of nearby restaurants
A lovely old building with spacious rooms, wonderful views, great cooked breakfast, friendly staff. Convenient for eating out in Lynton. Some previous reviews mentioned access problems but these seem to have been very exaggerated. We had no problems at all. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The shower was not very powerful.
Restaurant closed during our visit
The view and location were fantastic. Owner was very nice and accomodating.
shower was a little poor and the only cooked breakfast was a full english, although it was very nice.
Lovely location with a great view, top notch breakfast, friendly and professional staff.
The property is in need of updating, there is an 80's feel about furnishings and the walls and floors are looking a little tired. It's a grand old building with an enviable location so the potential is there. Another small recommendation would be to try and move the telephone cables undergound, as it is interrupting a quite stunning view.
Wonderful view, lovely owner.
We had a great time. Lots of beautiful places to visit. Staff very friendly and relaxed.
Location superb great views walking distance of visitor attractions very dog friendly and flexible with storing dog food good advice for local area very friendly old style traditional hotel Nice breakfasts
