superb service, friendly and efficient staff. Good food, nothing to much trouble.
bedroom a bit small
Modern, 'boutique' facilities, helpful staff and good food.
Only one chair in a large double room
Friendly staff, good food, lovely refurbished room, great central location
No car parking
Good clean hotel and value for money
Modern comfortable and friendly hotel
The location was great and so was the breakfast. The bedroom was pretty small, but we were only staying for one night so this wasn't a problem, it had everything we needed.
We found parking in Colchester very difficult, so it's a pity the hotel doesn't have any parking of its own.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast menu and plenty of time to eat it. Convenient for the town.
Wi fi connectivity poor in the room
Clean comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful
Stayed here for one night before going to Clarice House Spa the next day. Arrived in the evening and staff were very helpful directing us to the NCP car park. Nicely presented clean rooms. Went to the Thai restaurant over the road and would recommend.
Room by the stairs was a bit noisy in the morning with heavy feet.
I like the atmosphere. At breakfast, linen napkins were provided and the breakfast area is delightful - the room retains its original wood window shutters. The hotel has a "boutique" feel and the decor is modern. The staff are superb.
There is no lift but I am sure the staff would help with the bags. No car parking though the hotel offers reduced rate tickets for the NCP car park which is opposite.
room was big and clean. Breakfast was excellent and the staff helpful and polite. Perfect choice!
Location, food, facilities were all good.
Staff was rude upon leaving spoke to me like I was a child which I didn't appreciate been a little out off to stay on my next visit home
central location friendly staff
we had a room out the front and it was noisy at night.
Good breakfast included in the price and close to the town centre.
-Friendly staff -Lovely 'cooked to order' breakfast -Comfy beds -Good location- near to town and restaurants
- Given wrong room key so walked into someone else's room upon arrival. - 'Do Not Disturb' sign ignored by cleaners.
Ideal stopover - great food - helpful staff - convenient location.
Night time temperature too hot -there was a fan in the room but no convenient 13 amp point to operate it from ...
-Staff were efficient and friendly -Very good bar area & restaurant -Quality breakfast with varied choice -I left some items of clothing and the staff advised me quickly and have posted them to me.....such attention to detail... -Overall great experience
Location Staff Room Value
Food was very good. Got a nice quiet room at the back with no street noise.
There was no lift. The wi-fi was slow. Staff seemed a bit under pressure at times.
Very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. We arrived early and they offered us an upgrade to make sure we got settled as we had a wedding to attend. Great little bar for a late night drink. Breakfast was brilliant with good restaurant style table service and high quality ingredients. Best hotel in Colchester by far.
great location staff so helpful & friendly. Great breakfast with local produce Very comfy accomodation so clean,London B & B ,s should take note!!!
Lovely hotel. Nice decor and people.
On a main road so can't open window during the night.
Very central location with easy parking in NCP car park opposite. Very nice restaurant and charming, helpful staff.
Friendly staff. Conveniently located to centre of town. Good breakfasts.
The room was very cramp. Quilt was unsuitable for summer time. Much too warm. Hard to sleep with traffic noise. Faulty shower head. Overpriced.
I was travelling alone from Canada until I could meet up with my English Family and I felt like I was among family. The staff were friendly and caring. The food was a real treat, absolutely delicious with great presentation. MY room was quite modern and very clean. Definitely I would recommend the North Hill.
