Hotel was very comfortable and staff so pleasant. Had a meal and it was excellent quaility
Cannot say that we disliked anything
Nice place, good facilities, friendly helpful staff, nice food
Friendliness of staff Quality Food Great Value for Money Excellent Service
Fantastic staff, location and value for money. All round a brilliant hotel.
Helpful, friendly and chatty staff, the hotel was very clean and comfortable. We had an evening meal at the hotel, using the set menu (2 courses for £10) and the food was lovely, good quantity and very good value.
The upstairs wifi wasn't very reliable, but I was able to connect to the downstairs wifi from my room which was fine! (A minor point!)
Nice size room with wifi included. Large bathroom. Comfy beds. Only was there to sleep and the rest of the time was spent out and about or at friends place. The people there were really lovely and attentive.
excellent staff and wifi, good food, bar and competitive prices
good position, nice staff, bigRoom
Good location, in my case for the South Edinburgh Science Parks but also convenient for the city. You could walk there if reasonably fit but regular busses. Clean hotel with decent restaurant and big open rooms. No bath but apart from that perfect. TV gave usual free view channels and there was a very good WiFi connection free of charge for unlimited use. Also had plenty of parking, often a problem in Edinburgh. Very good value for money as well.
We were unfortunately in a huge delay due to the flights and the car hire, much further the check-in threshold, but the staff very kindly waited for us.
the rooms, although confortable, are very basic
The service from staff, the room was excellent. It was within easy reach for the city. The price for bebd and breakfast was very good
Due to a reunion party I found it difficult getting to sleep, but understood the situation.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very good food - we had evening meal and breakfast. Comfortable room, very clean, warm, and big en suite bathroom (room 1). Great value. Good regular bus service into city centre and bus stop directly outside hotel.
The friendly staff made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, the rooms where very clean and well presented, the food was very good and plenty of it, the additional meals and drinks in the hotel very reasonable, overall we had a very enjoyable stay.
The bed was a little bit too firm for our backs
The bus service stopped right outside and was a 10 minute ride to the centre of Edinburgh. This made it a great location and easy to be a tourist in Edinburgh without the hassle of car parking. Excellent
Nothing - it was all good.
Not too far from the centre of Edinburgh, bus stop outside hotel if you need one, plenty of room in the car park. Meal satisfactory.
Hotel public areas are a bit run down, poor paintwork and dirty carpets. Drinks are a bit too expensive (dash of lemonade in brandy cost £0.95!). Bedroom furniture more like an office, bed low and sharp edges, noisy front bedroom (traffic, revelers and wind), shower cubicle very small.
Great budget priced hotel with really friendly and attentive staff. Good value for money
Staff very helpful navigating the city. Always friendly and truly showed interest in your well being.
The family were very accommodating. Well run and excellent food. Easy access for public transport to and from Edinburgh.
Nice stone house on the outskirt of Edinburgh. Bus stop on the doorstep of the hotel making access to town centre very easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
atmosphere, value for money, service, location. Shower didnt work due to circuit breaker and got a very apologetic response and a very unexpexted more than adequate compensation
slightly old fashioned furniture decor but not an issue
Staff were very friendly and both evening meal and breakfast were very nice. Ideal base for our tour of Edinburghs Universitys. would recommend for value too.
situation could be off putting but dont let it.
The crew at The Northfield House Hotel were very nice. The room absolute grand. I had the room #1 with the downstairs bathroom and bedroom up a short staircase. The large 2 persons bed was nice and clean as well as the room. I had dinner downstairs eventho I plannend to go to the City of Edinburgh that evening. The food was nice but not special. It was the fact I had been on the road for the greater part of the day I stayed. Next time I'll try the city for a bite to eat. Breakfast was ok but I've been getting real Scottisch breakfast all week so I was a bit spoiled ;-) The moring crew was really nice as well. Good place to stay the bus stops litterly in front of the entrance. But if you want to go out for a stroll in the evening in the City you will have to take the bus first(15min.drive).
Staff very friendly, lady helped carry our small suitcase upstairs, bedroom spotless and warm: kettle with tea/coffee making facilities. As we knew exactly where we were staying, and having eaten there before 2009 when we left the area, we were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was very good value and very enjoyable.
Rooms were clean and roomy. Staff were friendly and happy to help.
Staff were so accommodating giving personal service with amenities of large scale hotel, on site restaurant was great- loved the fish and chips, bar service in the afternoons...
Could use hair dryers in the room and larger bath towels
