Score from 258 reviews Very good
Very attentive staff, lovely rooms, recently refurbished, nice dinner from the fixed menu, very good service in the restaurant, very good breakfast.
Nothing everything was just right!
Rooms, Staff, Bar (sold real ale), Food and location. We had a great stay!
Could have done with a shelf in bathroom for toiletries. I know it's only a little thing but little things matter.
Food Friendliness of staff
Room was too basic. No shelf in bathroom
Cleanliness and location
Poor bedding pillows especially which meant a poor nights sleep
Good value, clean and lovely staff. Had a really good nights sleep.
Price, location, free car parking and WIFI, and the overall comfort. A nice hotel and with a tiny bit more attention to detail would be an absolute gem.
One person on duty later in evening which meant a lot of waiting for different things. (e.g. drink at bar, reception etc). One person cannot be everywhere. Did not keep an eye on the eggs and beans at breakfast so they both looked like they had been there for a few hours! No lift which can be fun with bags!
Easy parking, nice staff
Not a huge issue but if travelling at the weekend weddings and parties do go on downstairs which can be loud. I didn't mind but someone wanting an early night might have struggled
Reception customer service was excellent - the room was great with TV and coffee making facilities - comfortable, cost effective, and great location
The hotel buiding and surroundings were very nice. The receptionist was very professional, polite and helpful.
When we arrived both us and our parents were given rooms that weren't ready. When rooms were sorted we had the kitchen vent right by our window which ran all night disturbing our sleep. My father has mobiltity problems but there was a party going on and the dj had parked across 2 of the disabled bays so we couldn't use them. Breakfast was ok but not kept stocked. My mother waited for several minutes to rewuest some bacon and was just left standing there ignored. These were glitches that could be sorted out and we would have used the hotel again. However i wrote a letter to the manager expressing our concerns on 1st Oct and yo date have not received any response. They obviously do not care about their customerd!
rooms filthy (net curtains black)
There was a wedding on and staff could see I was tired. They placed me in a room well away from the festivities.
I would have liked to know if there was a function on. It was fortunate there was a room away from festivities.
We were put in a really beautiful room 37 and enjoyed our stay
The breakfast was disappointing just one pot of coffee and one jar of sugar for 50 people also a buffet breakfast that was luke warm
Very thin walls - I could hear the noise and conversations from other rooms.
Restaurant food really good excellent service and good choice on menu .friendly helpful staff, comfortable bed .good breakfast
Bins not emptied in room during stay, also tea and coffee not replenished each day we had to ask for more
Comfortable room, tastefully decorated, simply buffet breakfast, that was well cooked. Used as a stopover en route to Wales, perfect location just off the M40.
Ask for a room at the rear of the hotel to avoid being woken by passing traffic.
Everything, lovely decor, comfortable room with thick carpet and quality bed and furniture. Friendly staff and great food.
Good location, good food and quality beer. The weekend deal is a snip and will have us returning again
Room was a little warm and the duvet was a high tog. Wife found the bed firm I didn't.
Everything was fine just minor things with a little thought could make the hotel fabulous.
Housekeeping could have been a little more professional.Little things which I am sure will be rectified given time.
lots of parking. Just off motorway. Windows open fully. Nice bar. Evening food was quite nice & very affordable . Breakfast included unlimited freshly cooked full english. Easy drive to NEC.
staff are great and friendly rooms are nice better than a travel lodge
Room woefully late being ready. 7 pm??... Very poor quality toiletries, no milk, dirty cup, three light bulbs out. New management have a lot of work to do. Won't be staying again
Very good staff Value for money The quality and facilities of a good chain but with the personal touch of a privately run hotel
Location Car Parking
We arrived shortly after 3 (check-in time advertised as 2.00pm) and had to wait 30 mins. We joined another couple who had been waiting over an hour. No urgency on the part of the staff. I've never seen so many CCTV cameras - made one feel as if we were in a prison ...
Oversized and too heavy quilt. Having to negotiate laundry bags which were stacked in our corridor each day. Poor equipped breakfast. Even had to ask for clean side plates, milk and toast. No white bread. Disabled room booked but had to negotiate steps to get to it.
