We were attending a wedding so this hotel was chosen for the location. Lovely place and would definitely recommend
Single room too small & cold.
Very friendly atmosphere and staff
Staff were very attentive, I had to leave very early for a race and they provided a cold breakfast so I could get away early.
Lovely country pub just right for a few nights stay. Breakfast OK but only one slice of toast offerred had to ask for more.
Boiler problem so room was very cold until stadalone heater kicked in. Booking recorded for wrong day so unless we had telephoned enroute there may not have been a room available!!
We stayed for two nights and couldn't have asked for better service. The staff were very friendly, offering information about the local area and places recommended for a visit. The food was excellent and I can honestly say that the chips were the best I'd ever had! Thank you Lorraine, Natalie and family.
Decor tired but to be fair, the family had only been there for five months and have big plans for the whole building.
Convenient location and freindly staff and locals. Hotel has all facilities in room you need. Restaurant food was good.
A bit more attention to detail when welcoming guests (welcome was somewhat lacklustre) and cleaning (dirty glasses left out for removal, but both were still there when I returned late afternoon). Black mould around bottom of shower.
Unable to access wi fi.
We used to live in the area about 20 years ago, the Oak was our local for about 6-9 months. When first moving to the area we stayed in the Oak for a number of days. Thus it was a trip down memory lane and to show our children some of our past.
The bar staff in the evening were clearly inadequate. The chap trying to cope was dashing arounf like a mad thing constantly appologising for delays and making a number of mistakes. In the restraurant several meals were not as per the menu, on an adjacent table there was a problem with pesto and when deserts were ordered including 'strawberries' only a single strawberry was included. In our case most of the meals eventually arrived OK except in one case the vegetables included never did arrive. In the morning, at breakfast, service was again slow, milk, orange juice etc on the small table were not replenished until we chased. A 'full english' breakfast bropught to my son had no bacon. How much longer do you want me to go on. The comparison with another pub we stayed at the previous night was dramatic and that pub accomodation was cheaper. Suffice to say we are unlikely to stay at the Oak again on future trips to Kent.
Really good food, good real ale, dog friendly and welcoming staff and locals.
Nothing was bad.
Ideal location for the tunnel very clean comfortable rooms friendly staff and a great breakfast we will stay here again.
Very good value. Much better than other places we have stayed at. Lovely pub ,good atmosphere ,excellent menu.. The staff really put themselves out to make sure they provided everything we needed,
Wi fi connection a bit tricky
nice location, good breakfast, friendly staff
-Very small room, bed and en suite -wifi not working in room, only in pub -not enough value for money
Nothing stood out - bed and pillows were comfortable
Food, room very small, intermittent wifi and decor. Mould in grouting of the shower.

Reception on arrival
Excellent food, the steak for our evening meal was very well cooked, full of flavour and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was good with locally obtained sausages, bacon and mushrooms.
Thin walls in the room, we could hear every word our nearest neighbours had to say and I think they were two doors up the corridor!!
