The Oakland Guest House

Family run guest house, situated just off the promenade so no problems with parking which is why we booked it. Very friendly people, with few rooms which makes it a better atmosphere.

The only drawback was the shower was a bit temperamental. Obviously no bar or breakfast, bit this isn't a problem as everything you would want is nearby, a nice café, late bars etc.

Rooms were very clean. Owner and family were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again. Local café well worth a visit.

clean rooms, very friendly management in a good quiet location set just away from the hubub of the town centre 4 minutes walk from a tram & bus stop.

the hotel was a very nice and a pleasure to stay in, the room we stayed in was quite big and the design was pretty too. also the staff was very nice as were the guests staying in the hotel at the same time as us.

the staff where friendly courteous and our stay was wonderful. So much so that my daughter didn't want to come home

Suzzanne was fantastic and told us a few places to go. We where made to feel really comfortable and at home and didn't really feel like we where in a hotel at all!!! We will be going back as soon as we can!!! Thank u Oakland for ur hospitality !!!!

Friendly people, nice clean comfy rooms, good price not too far away from the city centre.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at the oaklands guest house, Suzanne and her family made us very welcome, and were very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable and good value for the price we paid. There is a beautiful fireplace in the lounge area, which would be lit during cold weather, so we look forward to going back when we have the next cold snap!

The guest house was in a good location - very close to the beach but away from the more tacky end of town. The atmosphere was relaxed and the owner, Suzanne, was lovely. She treated me in a very warm and friendly manner, making me feel very comfortable. The room was cosy and clean and the towels were changed every day. I had a very enjoyable weekend at the Oakland and will definitely stay there again when I next visit Blackpool.

It was great value for money and the family were very friendly and welcoming.

The mattress was very lumpy however after walkin round Blackpool all day we were very tired and still slept well. Also the shower was not worth having, it wasn't hot at all and the pressure was rubbish.

The owner was friendly rooms were very nice and modern would defo stay here again 100 percent

My stay at the Oakland Guest House was absolutely fabulous, myself and my wife were greeted by Suzanne, Diana & Bill and were shown to the room we were staying in whilst on our quick break, and We were thrilled as it was so beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean..Suzanne and her family offered their knowledge of Blackpool and where to eat, play, visit and we crammed as much as we could whilst there..We were taken personally to the cafe on the next corner and introduced to the owners by Suzanne, who in turn made the most fantastic cooked breakfast..(This is far nicer than staying bed & breakfast as we could eat when we liked and where we liked)..If I could describe this Guest House in just a few words that would be used to recommend others staying there, then the words would be friendly ~ welcoming ~ spotlessly clean ~ fabulously decorated with modern design ~ extremely comfortable ~ knowlegable about blackpool and where to visit ~ and most definately where I would be going again..Thankyou Suzanne, Diana & Bill for making our short holiday so wonderful..10/10 is definately not enough, for this lovely guest house..The whole time spent there was brilliant..

Very friendly and helpful hosts, really felt welcomed, spacious room, clean and comfortable.

The price is great value. Friendly welcome & nice safe/quiet surroundings. Yes, it's a little out of town on the map, but the tram & bus stops are only a short walk away & if you buy the unlimitied use day/week pass for them, it's gets you a seat most times. The place is located near to two cafes & a sandwich shop to sort out breakfast/lunch at your own time if you want a lie in. Also there's three shops nearby for a beachside picnic which is less than 5 minutes walk across the road. Clean towels every day is nice too & the DVD/TV in the room is ideal for a rainy day. I shall definitely return in the spring/summer as the prices are sensible all year round.

Room, although not huge, was large enough, clean and stylishly furnished / decorated Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly Breakfast at the very close Corner Cafe is the best in town I would not have been unhappy with the room had it been twice the price A few minutes from the beach
