Location and breakfast. Friendly staff
As others have said, it was close to the NEC and the check in lady was friendly and helpful.
Beds were little more comfortable than half-inflated air beds, bathroom was mouldy and horrid, walls (and floors) were paper thin and could hear everything and when discovered room door lock didn't work, no staff on site to rectify. Won't be back...
Really kind, helpful staff. Reasonably priced
Struggled to control heating within our room and everything was a little worn and dated. Served the purpose of our stay but not somewhere we'd stay again
There was nobody there when we arrived to let us in. The room was dirty and the bathroom was filthy, the bed sheets were dirty. One of the mattresses had collapsed in the middle and it was extremly over priced for just the room only. Never again would I stay there again.
A conveniently located small and friendly B and B. Staff were excellent and looked after us very well. Rooms are a bit dated and bathroom slightly run down however for the price and convenient location I would visit again!!
price prompt service smiles helpful staff
flaking paint in bathroom black grout in shower grubby plastic utensil holder in shower heat in the building very noisy building, thin walls
Needs an update
The receptionist was polite and very helpful. Breakfast was acceptable but extra toast was not offered & once the breakfast was served the cook disappeared.
The bed was uncomfortable. Other residents in the hotel were in & out rooms throughout the night slamming doors, which culminated with someone leaving the premises by car at 03.30am.
1. The receptionist was friendly and helpful 2. Liked leaving and vowing never to return
1. The raw sewage smell outside 2. The TV hanging off the wall and not working 3. The crummy carpet complete with mould in the bathroom 4. The lack of bulbs in the bedside lamps 5. The cracked toilet seat 6. The 'quirky' door lock 7. The propped open fire door
everything else. No wonder they take your money when you arrive
Bathroom dirty and tired. Headboard not attached to bed. Carpet ripped exposing floor. Shower cold and leaking.
Proximity to NEC excellent. Efficient heating system if needed. Tea and coffee in good supply in room.
The building looked unloved both outside and inside. Rooms require make over, look tired. Smell of damp in room coming from bathroom where extractor fan not working. Valance half on half off on single bed, none on double, leaving base of bed exposed which was very old. I was looking for something of mine which I thought may have rolled under the bed and put my hand under, found a lot of grubby fluff and old rubbish under that bed. Furniture not moved for vacuuming underneath. Furniture was very old, but appeared clean. Cooked breakfast plated up when put in front of you, not asked what we wanted on our plate. Burned toast ( I mean blackened toast ) Felt more like transport café approach (nothing wrong with transport café, but not in B and B, room cold and no character ) Staff not engaging with guests at all. Worker had her coat on the whole time. No advice given there was a lounge, found it ourselves on second night. One of our bedroom windows was cracked across a large area, looked awful from outside.
Tv did not work, glass on window broken, window locks broken, valances around beds did not fit. Outside was in poor condition, the gardens were overgrown with weeds
Booked here because it was all that was available in area. Very helpful lady checked me in and prepared a good breakfast in the morning.
The place is very tired and in urgent need of refurb. The bedding was clean but mattress very soft. There is a musty smell throughout the whole building. Wouldn't stay here again unless i have to or if it was refurbished.
Cracking English fry-up!
The lady running this B&B was working hard to provide the best she could under the circumstances. Breakfast was excellent, beds were clean. We were staying there overnight after a trip to the nec. The accommodation is Ideally situated for this less than £10 in a taxi, very efficient taxi firm advertised in b&B. It was an inexpensive stopover and did the job for what we wanted, I've no complaints.
The building is dated and shabby, especially the bathrooms.
I did not like anything. Room was dead cold, there was bleach odour and I could hardly taken breath because I have an asthma was thinking I was gonna die. Location was hidden, in the middle of no where, Navigation could not find, because it was dark, sign was not able to see. I had to wait and call hotel next to grave yard which is not nice in the dark. Not safe.
Fit for purpose. Wanted a place to sleep for the night, no frills and that's what we got. Good clean, airy room with on suite bathroom. Quiet night & good breakfast. Just what we needed for a good deal less than some other local places!
Staff very helpful. Comfortable room plus delicious breakfasts.
Used condom behind toilet Razor on cabinet Shower didn't work Sink leaked
not clean. shower in pieces when arrrived
Close to Coleshill which has plenty of eateries. Close to NEC and airport
We had great difficulty finding this hotel, it is hidden off the main road, badly signposted. The building is run down, rooms noisy with paper thin walls and traffic noise. Can't think of anything good to say.
The stuff is friendly. Solve mistake very nice.
The location is too remote.(If customers take taxi from city center to The Old Barn, it would cost 30 pounds. You'd better don't arrive there after sunset.) Just one soap in bathroom.
Lisa the receptionist/cook extremely helpful and cooks a really good breakfast
Place is run down waiting for HS2?
Staff friendly and helpful.
Although the bed clothes were clean, the rest of the room was unacceptably dirty. Carpet was thick with dust round edges, the bathroom was dirty with old hairs round the bath and dirty tiles, the drawers in the bedroom were full of dust, crumbs and hairs. There was a Complete lack of attention to detail - only one of the two ceiling lights worked, only one of the two bedside lights worked, the radiator didn't work.
